How much does the 2016 GMC Acadia cost?

There are 1,695 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Acadia options to compare.

Is the 2016 GMC Acadia a good car?

Generally — with a user rating of 4.3/5, this Acadia is a strong fit if you want a roomy, comfort-first crossover with a practical family focus. The overview points to a vehicle that was designed to replace several three-row models, and it emphasizes space, available upscale touches, and straightforward mechanicals. That makes it appealing if you want a used SUV that feels more premium than its basic shape suggests, even if it was built to prioritize comfort over performance. 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 GMC Acadia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also describes the 2016 model as one of the better Acadia years for reliability, which is encouraging if you want a used crossover with a more reassuring ownership profile. For used buyers, that usually means lower anxiety about long-term surprises, though you should still expect the normal wear-and-tear risks that come with an older family SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 GMC Acadia?

At 59.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any promising listing and confirm whether prior damage was cosmetic or structural. Put inspection priority on body panels, alignment, tire wear, and signs of uneven repairs, since those can reveal past collision work. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, because a clean, well-kept example is the safest way to buy this model year.

What is the 2016 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $10,443 sits slightly below last year's $11,367.

That softer pricing suggests the Acadia has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the range and keep the vehicle in good condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later. Demand should remain supported by the model's practical layout and family-friendly positioning.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $12,793, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $10,443 average.
• It brings a lighter redesign with a new 4-cylinder engine.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the better value and a more affordable entry into Acadia ownership. If you can stretch your budget and want the redesigned 2017's newer platform and lighter feel, that newer model is the better long-term alternative. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2016 is the smarter buy.
