Is the 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan a good car?

That said, some owners mention past powertrain concerns, so a used example is best approached as a value buy that still deserves careful vetting.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan?

At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, signs of wear from family use, and any issues tied to age or past repairs. Because this model is valued for practicality, you’ll want to make sure the cabin, seating, and mechanical condition all match the seller’s description.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep buyer’s-market discount.

• Deal availability: 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,182 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.80% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,606, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan's resale value?

The current average of $9,606 sits slightly below last year's $10,197.

That softer pricing suggests the model is still accessible on the used market, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if you buy at the wrong price. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter a lot, especially because buyers in this segment tend to compare value closely. A clean history and strong maintenance record should help you preserve more of your investment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a smart choice if you want the Grand Caravan’s core strengths at a lower price and you’re willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a cleaner or better-equipped example fits your budget better.
