Used 2016 Chevrolet Trax for Sale nearPittsburgh, PA

How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Prices have softened 6.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 871 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the Trax’s appeal comes from its compact size, useful packaging, and budget-friendly positioning. It was designed to give you a higher driving position and extra space without losing the easy-to-live-with feel that makes a small crossover practical. For shoppers who want an affordable, easy-to-park SUV with available all-wheel drive and a useful interior, that formula makes sense. 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Trax’s reliability case is tied to its straightforward small-crossover formula and practical feature set rather than complexity. It was built to be compact, useful, and budget-friendly, which can help keep ownership straightforward for used buyers. For long-term ownership, you should still focus on maintenance history and overall condition, since a small turbocharged crossover can be more sensitive to neglect than a simpler vehicle.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Trax?

At 59.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any Trax you’re seriously considering and confirm whether prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body panels, alignment, tire wear, and signs of uneven repair, since those can reveal whether an accident affected the vehicle beyond cosmetics. You should also focus on overall condition and maintenance records, because a budget-friendly used crossover is best when it has been cared for consistently.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Trax?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $8,500, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $8,500 sits slightly below last year's $9,050.

That price movement suggests the Trax has softened enough to create a more buyer-friendly entry point, but it also means future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy well now and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your exit value later. Demand should remain tied to the Trax’s affordability, compact footprint, and practical feature set.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $8,985, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $8,500 average.
• It adds a redesigned look with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2016 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid deal availability. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer-feeling cabin and added connectivity, the 2017 is the better secondary path.
