Used 2016 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearBaltimore, MD

How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 11.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,447 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. The 2016 Chevrolet Traverse stands out as a very large three-row crossover that prioritizes space and family usefulness over flash. It offers a huge cabin, a third row with just over 33 inches of legroom, and a maximum cargo volume of 116.4 cubic feet, which is larger than some minivans. It also brings real utility with a 3.6-liter V6, a six-speed automatic transmission, and a towing capacity of up to 5,200 pounds.

That makes it a strong fit if you want a roomy, practical used SUV with serious passenger and cargo space. The market also shows 28.7% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2016 Chevrolet Traverse does have a weak reliability reputation, with concerns tied to electrical, power steering, engine, and transmission trouble. That means you should treat condition and maintenance history as especially important when evaluating a used example.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is higher than average if the vehicle has been poorly maintained or has unresolved mechanical issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Traverse?

At 59.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on the drivetrain, steering, and electrical systems, since those are the areas most worth scrutinizing on this model year. You should also focus on overall condition and maintenance records, especially if you plan to keep the vehicle for the long haul.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,447 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,666, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $8,666 sits slightly below last year's $9,805.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help limit how much value you lose if you buy at the right price. For a future seller, the current market is a reminder that condition and documentation matter a lot, because buyers will compare your vehicle against a wide pool of similarly priced listings. If you keep the Traverse well maintained and present it cleanly, you give yourself a better chance of standing out in a value-driven segment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price and availability, the 2016 is the primary path to consider. If you're especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
