How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe cost?

Prices have softened 12.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,220 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe a good car?

Yes — the 4.89/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the comfort, spaciousness, and high-end features, and they also like the smooth ride and strong performance, especially in challenging conditions. For you, that makes this a strong fit if you want a roomy full-size SUV for family duty, hauling, and everyday usability. With 31.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also describes it as reliable, dependable, and a great value for buyers looking for a trouble-free SUV they can count on over the long term. That kind of sentiment matters when you’re shopping used, because it suggests the Tahoe has earned trust from people living with it every day. For you, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been well maintained and not worn down by heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe?

At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from ones with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to body condition, signs of prior repair, and overall wear that could affect long-term ownership. Because this is a large SUV that may have been used for family hauling or towing, focus on how well the interior, suspension, and general condition have held up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,220 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,037, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

The current average of $18,040 sits slightly below last year's $20,628.

That price drop suggests the Tahoe has already moved into a more buyer-friendly part of its depreciation curve, which can help you if you’re buying now and planning to sell later. A lower entry price can also make it easier to preserve value if you choose a clean, well-kept example and avoid overpaying up front. Strong owner satisfaction can support demand when it’s time to resell, especially for a large SUV with broad family appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

If you want a full-size SUV with strong owner approval, a lower current price, and plenty of listings to compare, the 2016 is the primary path to consider. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can use the softer market to target the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than stretching for a newer year.
