Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Equinox?

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $9,218 sits slightly below last year's $9,885.

That softer pricing suggests the model has moved into a more buyer-friendly position, which can make future resale a little more competitive for you as an owner. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $8,037, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $9,218 average.
• It leans on versatile, straightforward simplicity for family use.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the stronger value proposition and better market availability, especially if you can verify a clean history. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly path, but you give up some of the 2016’s updated features and broader appeal.
