How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette cost?

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette earns a 4.9/5 user rating and an 8.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 10/10. Owners consistently praise its exceptional performance, sleek design, and modern interior, and the overview makes clear that it’s aimed at you if you want a car that makes a statement before it even moves. It also stands out for delivering serious speed and capability when properly equipped, while still offering strong value for the money. Good and great deals account for 35.1% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Reviewers describe it as exceptional value for money, and the feedback points to a car that owners are happy to live with over time. The expert summary also emphasizes how compelling the Corvette remains as a performance-focused sports car with strong appeal. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s desirability and more about finding one that has been cared for properly, since condition matters a lot in a high-performance used sports car.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Corvette?

At 74.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or driven hard. Focus on signs of wear that matter most on a performance car: brakes, tires, suspension condition, and evidence of careful maintenance. It’s also smart to pay close attention to cabin condition and odors, since owner feedback mentions a strong cigarette smoke smell in some used examples.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT packages build on one another, with the 1LT serving as the entry point and the higher trims adding more comfort and convenience equipment. The 2LT adds heated and ventilated seats, curb-view cameras, Bose audio, and a heads-up display, while the 3LT adds leather surfaces everywhere, Napa leather seating, navigation, and the Performance Data Recorder. If you want the best balance of equipment and value, the 2LT is the trim to focus on first.
• Powertrain: The Corvette uses a 6.2-liter pushrod V8 with 455 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It can run to 60 mph in under 4 seconds, and the available 7-speed manual or 8-speed automatic both suit the car’s performance mission well.
• Safety package: The Corvette comes standard with 4 airbags, side-impact airbags, a protective cell, four-wheel antilock brakes, automatic seat-belt pretensioners, and electronic stability control. Higher trims add front- and rear-facing cameras to help with parking and backing out.
• Infotainment: Dual 8-inch screens anchor the cabin, and Chevrolet MyLink includes phone, audio, and navigation when equipped. Apple CarPlay is included, Android Auto follows later, and OnStar adds connected features such as remote start/stop, vehicle diagnostics, maintenance notifications, and emergency assistance.
• Fuel efficiency: The V8 uses cylinder deactivation and a tall 7th gear to help with highway cruising, but it still requires premium fuel and frequent fill-ups from its 18-gallon tank.

Which 2016 Chevrolet Corvette trim should I buy?

The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette is offered in 3 trim levels: 1LT, 2LT, 3LT.

Here's the short version:

• 1LT: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Corvette’s core appeal: the V8 performance, the dramatic styling, and the updated cabin. If you care most about getting into the car at the lowest price, this is the trim to start with.
• 2LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds heated and ventilated seats, curb-view cameras, Bose audio, and a heads-up display. It gives you a much richer daily-driving experience without pushing you all the way to the top trim.
• 3LT: This is the most luxurious version, with leather surfaces everywhere, Napa leather seating, navigation, and the Performance Data Recorder. Choose this one if you want the most complete cabin and plan to lean into the car’s performance character.

Higher trims also bring front- and rear-facing cameras to help with parking and backing out.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Corvette?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,104 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $54,083, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette's resale value?

The current average of $54,646 sits slightly below last year's $56,686.

That softer pricing can help you buy more selectively now, but it also suggests future sellers may need to be realistic on asking price if the market stays competitive. The Corvette’s strong performance reputation and desirable styling should continue to support demand, especially for well-kept examples with the right equipment. If you maintain the car carefully and keep mileage and condition in check, you’ll be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette safe?

The Chevrolet Corvette has not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Corvette comes standard with 4 airbags, including side-impact airbags and a protective cell, along with four-wheel antilock brakes, automatic seat-belt pretensioners, and electronic stability control. Higher trims add front- and rear-facing cameras to help when parking and backing out. Visibility is limited because of the car’s low stance and small windows, so you should expect some compromises in everyday maneuvering.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Corvette or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2016 stands out for its updated interior and stop-traffic styling, plus performance that can challenge much more expensive cars when properly equipped.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of performance, style, and current market value, the 2016 is a compelling choice. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can still find attractive alternatives in the broader Corvette market, but this year’s combination of owner satisfaction and softened pricing makes it a smart target for shoppers who want the classic Corvette experience without paying peak money.

How does the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette compare to the 2016 Ford Mustang?

Our experts score the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette 8.5/10 and the 2016 Ford Mustang 7.5/10. The Corvette is the more expensive and more performance-focused choice, with a much stronger expert score and a higher average used price. The Mustang is far more affordable and has more listings available, but the Corvette’s stronger deal share and accident-free share make it the more compelling pick if you want a premium sports-car experience. If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, the Mustang is the easier buy; if you want the more special car, the Corvette is the one to target.
