Is the 2016 Buick LaCrosse a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the comfort, safety features, and reliability, and they also highlight the smooth ride and luxurious interior. For you, that makes the LaCrosse a strong fit if you want a relaxed, upscale sedan rather than something sporty. With 29.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value to be found.

Is the 2016 Buick LaCrosse reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as reliable and appreciate its trouble-free feel, along with the confidence that comes from a car they can count on. That combination of comfort and dependability is a major reason shoppers keep cross-shopping it. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been well maintained and not worn down by prior use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Buick LaCrosse?

At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for bodywork quality, panel alignment, and signs of uneven wear. Because this model is valued for comfort and refinement, focus on interior condition, electronics, and how smoothly the car drives on a test route.

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.

What is the 2016 Buick LaCrosse's resale value?

The current average of $12,001 sits slightly below last year's $12,256.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. If you plan to sell later, the current trend implies you may need to price competitively to move the car quickly. Strong condition and a clean history should matter more than ever if you want to protect value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Buick LaCrosse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $15,120, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $12,001 average.
• It brings a redesigned, more premium look and broader upscale appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2016 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction. If you are willing to spend more for a newer-feeling redesign and a more premium presentation, the 2017 is the better upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2016 is the more practical choice.
