How much does the 2016 Buick Envision cost?

Is the 2016 Buick Envision a good car?

The 2016 Buick Envision was positioned as a compact luxury SUV alternative, and it offered a strong equipment list for the time. Buick emphasized comfort and quiet refinement, and the model also brought generous headroom along with a well-equipped cabin for buyers who wanted a more upscale feel than a typical mainstream crossover.

It was also aimed at shoppers who wanted a familiar mechanical foundation, since it shared its chassis and powertrains with the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain. At the same time, its styling was described as conservative rather than especially distinctive, so it makes the most sense if you value comfort and equipment over standout design.

With 30.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2016 Buick Envision reliable?

The 2016 Buick Envision had a familiar mechanical foundation, and Buick paired that with a comfort-focused setup and a strong safety record. It earned the maximum Good rating in five IIHS crash tests and a five-star NHTSA safety rating, which supports its appeal for shoppers who want a reassuring used SUV.

Its reliability story is best viewed through the lens of long-term ownership risk: you should expect a used example to reward careful maintenance and a thorough pre-purchase check, especially if you plan to keep it for several years.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Buick Envision?

At 65.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any candidate and confirm whether prior damage was cosmetic or structural. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body panels, alignment, tire wear, and signs of uneven repairs, since condition matters more when you’re comparing used examples with mixed histories.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Buick Envision?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be picky if you’re shopping carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 278 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,965, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Buick Envision's resale value?

The current average of $11,967 sits slightly below last year's $14,284.

That decline suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make the Envision easier to purchase now but less advantageous if you’re thinking about future resale. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your value better than the broader market trend suggests. For a future seller, the key will be presenting a clean, well-documented example that stands out from the average listing.

Should I buy a 2016 Buick Envision or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.22% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2016 makes sense if you want the lower entry price and are willing to shop carefully for condition and history. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2016 can be the better path when you find a clean example near the low end of the range; otherwise, it’s worth comparing nearby years to see whether a slightly newer listing gives you a better overall fit.
