How much does the 2016 BMW X3 cost?

Prices have softened 9.44% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 896 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 BMW X3 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 BMW X3 earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth driving experience, powerful performance, and luxury features, and many like the way it blends mid-size SUV practicality with sports-car-like handling. That makes it a strong fit if you want a premium SUV that feels engaging on the road while still working well for everyday use. With 34.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitively priced example.

Is the 2016 BMW X3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights a smooth, dependable driving experience, and many shoppers describe it as a vehicle they can count on for premium daily use. At the same time, the same feedback also points to higher insurance and maintenance costs, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is less about basic satisfaction and more about budgeting carefully for upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 BMW X3?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on mechanical condition, maintenance records, and any signs of deferred upkeep. Given the model’s premium ownership profile, you should pay close attention to wear items, repair history, and overall condition rather than relying on appearance alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW X3?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 896 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.44% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,381, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW X3's resale value?

The current average of $11,381 sits slightly below last year's $12,567.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and maintain it well, you may be better positioned to limit losses when it comes time to sell. Demand should remain supported by the model’s premium feel and broad appeal to shoppers who want a sporty luxury SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a good primary choice if you want a well-liked luxury SUV with a softer price than it had a year ago and enough inventory to shop carefully. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
