Is the 2016 Lexus NX a good car?

Generally — the 4.12/5 user rating suggests you can feel reasonably confident shopping this model year. Owners most often praise its comfort, timeless look, reliability, and good fuel economy. In practical terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a compact luxury crossover that balances everyday comfort with efficiency and a distinctive design. With 34.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Lexus NX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.12/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to reliability, dependable day-to-day use, and a car you can count on over the long term. That kind of reputation matters for used buyers because it can reduce the odds of unpleasant ownership surprises and help the NX stay appealing as it ages. Even so, you should still budget for normal wear items and verify maintenance history before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Lexus NX?

At 56.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with past damage or title issues. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, signs of repair, and how well the cabin and mechanicals have been maintained. Because some listings have prior incidents, condition should matter as much as price when you compare options.

What is the 2016 Lexus NX's resale value?

The current average of $18,476 sits slightly below last year's $18,612.

That small decline suggests the market has been stable rather than volatile, which is generally helpful if you plan to resell later. A steady price pattern can make it easier to estimate future value and avoid buying at a peak. The NX’s owner satisfaction should also help support demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.12/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.12/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $17,512, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $18,476 average.
• It emphasizes distinctive styling and practical efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping environment, the 2016 is the better primary target because pricing is stable and deal availability is decent. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
