What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Audi A4?

At 58.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on every candidate and prioritize cars with clean records and consistent maintenance. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the car’s premium features and interior equipment still work as expected.

What is the 2016 Audi A4's resale value?

The current average of $11,413 sits slightly below last year's $11,861.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you purchase near the lower end of the range and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it’s time to resell. The current market also shows enough demand to support a reasonable exit later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Audi A4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $13,307, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $11,413 average.
• The 2017 brings a redesigned, more modern-feeling A4 with updated technology and styling.

The 2016 is the better pick if you want the lower entry price and a well-regarded used luxury sedan with strong owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer-feeling cabin and a more forward-looking design, the 2017 is the better upgrade. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2016 offers the stronger value case.
