Used 2016 Acura TLX for Sale nearSpokane, WA

How much does the 2016 Acura TLX cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 546 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Acura TLX a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Acura TLX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

Acura positions this model as a performance luxury sedan, so you get a car meant to balance driving appeal with upscale character. The cabin materials are described as premium, and the TLX is framed as a value-priced sedan that undercuts some similarly equipped rivals.

The market also shows 31.0% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Acura TLX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The TLX is presented as a car that can feel calm in everyday driving and more aggressive when you ask for it, which points to a broad, usable character. The expert commentary also emphasizes refinement in the controls and a generally upscale interior feel.

The performance notes suggest the car can deliver strong driving dynamics, especially in V6 SH-AWD form, but the braking system is a concern under hard use. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the car has been maintained well enough to avoid wear-related issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Acura TLX?

At 50.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has larger wheels, higher mileage, or signs of hard use. Focus on body condition, brake condition, and whether the cabin and controls still feel tight and well cared for.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The TLX is described as a value-priced 4-door sedan with 4-cylinder and V6 versions, and the cabin is upscale but not especially exciting. Base versions may feel less special than the better-equipped cars, so check whether the features you want are actually present.
• Powertrain: The TLX is available with a 4-cylinder or V6 engine, and SH-AWD is offered on V6 versions. The V6 is described as smooth and powerful, while the front-drive trims are said to handle better with Acura’s Precision All-Wheel Steer system.
• Safety package: The car includes sophisticated driver-assistance and collision-avoidance technologies, but the safety content also notes a Marginal result for small-overlap frontal protection and a Marginal result for LATCH ease of use.
• Infotainment: The TLX does not offer Wi-Fi access, Apple CarPlay, or Android Auto. It does offer a dual-screen setup, Aha and Pandora internet radio, Siri Eyes Free, text and email reading, and an optional Technology Package with navigation and a 10-speaker premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 test car was rated by the EPA to return 25 mpg, and the test loop returned 22.8 mpg.

Which 2016 Acura TLX trim should I buy?

The 2016 Acura TLX is offered in 2 trim levels: TLX 2.4, TLX 3.5 SH-AWD.

Here's the short version:

• TLX 2.4: This is the entry point and the better-value choice if you want the TLX’s upscale feel without stretching for the pricier V6 setup. It keeps the car’s value-oriented mission intact and is the trim to focus on if you want the lowest-cost path into the model.
• TLX 3.5 SH-AWD: This is the one to choose if you want the strongest performance character. The V6, torque-vectoring SH-AWD, and available upgrades make it the more engaging version, but it also brings more cost and complexity.

The safety content also notes that the TLX’s crash-protection results are mixed, so it’s worth checking the specific equipment and condition of any trim you consider.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Acura TLX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 546 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 50.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,031, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Acura TLX's resale value?

The current average of $14,721 sits slightly above last year's $14,640.

That small increase suggests the TLX has held its value reasonably well rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of stability can be helpful because it points to a market that is neither overheated nor collapsing.

If you maintain the car well and keep documentation for service and condition, you should be in a better position to attract buyers when it’s time to sell. The steady pricing also suggests that clean, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Acura TLX safe?

The 2016 Acura TLX earns five-star ratings across the board from NHTSA, but it also receives a Marginal IIHS rating for small-overlap frontal protection.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety suite is described as sophisticated for the most part, with collision-avoidance and driver-assistance technologies that operate at a high level. The TLX also includes a Tire Fill Assist system, and the optional Technology Package adds AcuraLink subscription services with features such as real-time traffic and weather, collision notification, emergency response, stolen-vehicle location assistance, remote access, and live assistance.

The main caveat is the Marginal small-overlap result, along with the Marginal LATCH ease-of-use rating. That means you should pay close attention to crash-protection history and child-seat usability if either matters to you.

Should I buy a 2016 Acura TLX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 50.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Acura’s own summary frames this year as part of a broader effort to restore the brand’s identity and appeal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,607, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $14,721 average.
• It is described as a likable near-luxury sedan with rewarding driving dynamics and a long list of modern entertainment and safety technologies.

The bottom line: If you want the newer-year market with stable pricing and a decent pool of listings, the 2016 is the safer default. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2015 is the better value play, especially if you find a clean example with the equipment you want.
