Used 2015 Toyota Tacoma for Sale nearSanta Fe, NM

How much does the 2015 Toyota Tacoma cost?

Prices have softened 2.71% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,465 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Generally — 4.33/5. The expert rating is 6/10, and the model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, rugged look, and powerful engine. They also highlight comfort and spaciousness, which helps if you want a truck that can handle both work and play.

The overview frames this Tacoma as a rugged, off-road-focused pickup with limited-production TRD Pro appeal, so it makes the most sense if your priorities lean toward rough-terrain capability rather than broad family duty.

Good and great deals account for 34.9% of listings, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to reliability, and the expert writeup reinforces that with language about durability and dependability. The cost-effectiveness discussion also describes the Tacoma as a durable machine and notes that it can make good financial sense over time.

That said, this is an older truck with limited technology and a purpose-built personality, so long-term ownership risk is more about accepting age-related compromises than worrying about a lack of toughness.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota Tacoma?

At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a close inspection of bodywork, frame condition, and signs of off-road use. Because this Tacoma is aimed at rough terrain, condition matters as much as mileage, especially if you want one that has been used hard but maintained well.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The TRD Pro stands out with off-road hardware, including an electronically locking rear differential, hill-start assist control, downhill assist control, bead-lock-style wheels, knobby all-terrain tires, and upgraded suspension. It also rides higher than a stock Tacoma, but it lacks step rails, and the cabin still leans heavily on cheap, gray plastic.
• Powertrain: The 4.0-liter V6 is the core engine here, and the TRD Pro test truck’s optional supercharger raises output to 295 horsepower and 318 lb-ft of torque. The added power makes the truck feel much quicker, but fuel economy suffers, with a reported 15.1 mpg in testing.
• Safety package: The truck includes 6 standard airbags and Smart Stop Technology, with an optional reversing camera and downhill assistance control on the test truck. The safety content also notes that the TRD Pro is not the same as the standard 4WD Double Cab for rollover resistance.
• Infotainment: The standard setup uses a 6.1-inch touchscreen with USB 2.0, Bluetooth pairing, and music streaming. The TRD Pro adds Entune App Suite, a reversing camera, navigation, a JBL premium sound system, voice recognition, satellite radio, traffic and weather reports, and HD Radio.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert writeup reports 15.1 mpg in testing, and the cost-effectiveness section says 18 mpg from the 4.0-liter V6 is not especially impressive.

Which 2015 Toyota Tacoma trim should I buy?

The 2015 Toyota Tacoma is offered in 1 trim level: TRD Pro.

Here's the short version:

The TRD Pro is the one to buy if you want the Tacoma’s most purpose-built off-road setup. It adds the suspension, tires, locking rear differential, and other trail-focused hardware that define this model year, and it also gets the richer infotainment setup with navigation and premium audio. If you want the most distinctive and capable version of this year’s Tacoma, this is the clear choice.

The safety content also notes standard airbags, Smart Stop Technology, and an optional reversing camera, but it also makes clear that this truck’s safety performance is not a standout.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota Tacoma?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,465 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.71% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,436, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $20,275 sits slightly below last year's $20,840.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also suggests the truck has already absorbed some of its recent value pressure. For a future seller, that means resale should depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the truck has been maintained.

Because this Tacoma still has a reputation for durability and strong demand among buyers who want a rugged pickup, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Toyota Tacoma safe?

The 2015 Toyota Tacoma earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with three-star protection for the front passenger in a frontal-impact collision and a four-star rollover resistance rating for the standard 4WD Double Cab.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety suite includes 6 standard airbags and Smart Stop Technology, with an optional reversing camera and downhill assistance control. The expert writeup also flags the truck’s age on the safety front, and the IIHS section notes Good ratings but a Marginal roof crush strength rating.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It’s the final-year TRD Pro version, emphasizing off-road capability over everyday versatility.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $23,703, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $20,275 average.
• It brings a full redesign with broader configuration flexibility and a more modern overall package.

The bottom line: Buy the 2015 if you want the lower price and the rugged, limited-production TRD Pro character. If you want a newer, more flexible Tacoma and can spend more, the 2016 is the better long-term path.
