How much does the 2015 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices are up 1.39% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 2,077 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Toyota RAV4 earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, spaciousness, and impressive fuel economy, and they also call out good handling and a comfortable ride. The overview points to broad everyday appeal, with practical utility, generous cargo space, and efficiency that make it easy to live with. It is especially well suited to you if you want a compact crossover that feels sensible and useful rather than flashy.

There are 31.5% good or great deals in the market, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback repeatedly highlights reliability, and the ownership experience is also described as dependable and trouble-free. The expert notes reinforce that impression by saying trouble is unlikely and that the vehicle rates highly for dependability, quality, and reliability. Toyota also includes free scheduled maintenance for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles of ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure a specific example has been maintained well, since condition and history matter more than the model’s overall reputation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

At 52.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the cabin and technology still work as expected. Because this model year has a meaningful share of accident history in the market, you want to confirm that any damage was repaired properly.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes LE, XLE, and Limited. The base trim is simpler, while the higher trims add more comfort and convenience equipment. The Limited is the one tied to the optional Technology Package, so it is the trim to target if you want the most advanced safety content.
• Powertrain: Every RAV4 uses a 176-hp, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The setup is peppy and refined, though it can feel a bit underpowered from a stop. Efficiency is a strength, and the model is described as returning about 25 mpg in combined driving.
• Safety package: Every version gets a rear-view camera. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning are part of the optional Technology Package on the Limited trim, while active cruise control and active braking are unavailable.
• Infotainment: The available Entune setup uses a 6.1-inch touchscreen and includes smartphone app integration, Internet radio, HD Radio, traffic, and weather reports. The system can be frustrating to use because of tiny buttons and occasional touchscreen glitches.
• Fuel efficiency: The RAV4 is described as returning an estimated 25 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 26 mpg during a week of mostly highway use.

Which 2015 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 3 trim levels: LE, XLE, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the simplest way into the lineup, so it makes sense if you want the RAV4’s core strengths without paying for extras. It still gives you the standard powertrain and rear-view camera, which keeps it practical and easy to recommend for value-focused shoppers.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because it adds more everyday appeal without pushing you into the highest price tier. The test vehicle was an XLE with optional all-wheel drive and available Entune navigation, which shows how this trim can be equipped for buyers who want a more complete setup.
• Limited: Choose this if you want the most upscale version and you care about the available Technology Package. That package brings blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning, but it is only available on this top trim.

The safety-package trim note is simple: the most desirable active safety features are reserved for the Limited trim with the optional Technology Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop with a clear target and be ready to move when you find a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,077 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.39% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 52.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,928, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $14,624 sits slightly above last year's $14,424.

That modest increase suggests the market still sees value in this model year, especially because it combines practicality with strong ownership appeal. If you own one and keep it in good condition, the combination of steady demand and a relatively stable price trend should help support resale value. The fact that prices are still moving upward also tells you that well-kept examples can remain attractive to future buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 safe?

The 2015 Toyota RAV4 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Every version gets a rear-view camera, but more advanced driver-assistance features such as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning require the optional Technology Package on the Limited trim. Active cruise control and active braking are not available. The safety picture is helped by the improved crash-test standing, but the NHTSA result still includes a 3-star protection rating for the front passenger in the frontal-impact assessment.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.39% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Improved crash-test ratings help this year stand out.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $13,550, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $14,624 average.
• It is a practical crossover with class-leading cargo capacity and a reputation for being the dependable choice when space and utility matter.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2015 if you want the stronger overall package and are comfortable paying a bit more for a model year with better crash-test standing. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2014 is the better value play, especially if you find one with clean history and solid maintenance records.

How does the 2015 Toyota RAV4 compare to the 2015 Honda CR-V?

Our experts score the 2015 Toyota RAV4 7.3/10 and the 2015 Honda CR-V 8.5/10.

The CR-V has the edge in overall expert score, stronger fuel economy, and more listings to shop from. The RAV4 counters with a slightly lower average used price and a reputation for practical utility, but it trails the CR-V in horsepower, mpg, and accident-free share. If you want the more polished all-around choice, the CR-V is the safer bet; if you prefer Toyota’s blend of value and utility, the RAV4 still makes sense.
