CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Porsche 911

Summary
With 390 currently listed for sale and an average price of $122,869, 28.2% of 2015 Porsche 911s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Porsche 911 4.91 / 5 stars.
81.0% of 2015 Porsche 911 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Porsche 911 stands out because it sits in the seventh generation, a period that brought a more modernized 911 while preserving the car’s familiar shape and rear-engine character. This generation debuted with a thin bar running between the taillights, and it also marked a shift from hydraulic to electric power steering, which changed the steering feel even as performance improved. For buyers, that means the 2015 911 still delivers the classic Porsche identity, but with enough engineering updates to make it more manageable and usable than older versions.
For 2015, the lineup had broadened beyond the base Carrera and Carrera S to include all-wheel-drive Carrera 4 and 4S models, plus the Turbo, Turbo S, and GT3. The Turbo models brought serious pace, while the GT3 focused on track-day performance with a naturally aspirated engine, no rear seats, and a PDK-only setup. The GTS trim also joined the lineup in 2015, pairing the Carrera S engine with the Powerkit option for 430 horsepower and offering a blend of comfort and sharpness. That mix of choices is a big part of the 2015 911’s appeal: it could be a daily driver, a grand tourer, or a focused performance car depending on the version.
There are tradeoffs, though. The 911 is still pricey, and passenger and cargo space are limited. Owners also tend to praise its performance and handling, while some note that the infotainment system is not especially intuitive and that it lacks a remote start feature. Even so, the 2015 Porsche 911 remains distinctive because it combines iconic styling, a unique engine layout, and a wide spread of performance personalities in one car.

Great cars, probably the best cars for people that like a direct and sporty ride. But overall overpriced and hard to find the correct specification of a pre-owned cars. Their owners tend to buy them and keep them as a second or third vehicle so trade ins are not very common. Buy one and enjoy if you can afford it. You wont be dis-appointed.

Is the 2015 Porsche 911 a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Porsche 911 earns a 4.91/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the performance and handling, and they also highlight the sporty feel and the convertible hard top feature on the Targa model. For you, that means this is a strong fit if you want a sports car that still works as a usable daily driver, especially if you value speed and driving engagement over maximum practicality. 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some market opportunity if you shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Porsche 911 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.91/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner feedback also points to a car that feels dependable in the ways that matter most to enthusiasts: strong performance, enjoyable handling, and a driving experience people are happy to live with over time. Some owners do mention infotainment frustrations and the lack of remote start, but those are more usability complaints than signs of major durability concerns. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s appeal and more about making sure prior maintenance and condition have been kept up.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Porsche 911?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 82% — always verify the vehicle history report. You should still check the report carefully, because even a strong accident-free share does not guarantee the specific car you’re considering has a clean past. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can evaluate mechanical condition, maintenance history, and any signs of wear that matter on a high-performance used car. Focus especially on overall condition and how well the car has been cared for, since that will matter more than simply finding the lowest price.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Porsche 911?
This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when a well-priced example appears.
- Deal availability: 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 399 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 9.71% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 82.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $111,954.68, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Porsche 911's resale value?
The current average of $122,993 sits slightly above last year's $112,103. That kind of price growth suggests the market continues to value this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy well and keep the car in good condition. For a future seller, that means a clean, well-maintained example should remain attractive to shoppers who want the 911 nameplate and the driving experience that comes with it. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.91/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2015 Porsche 911 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 82% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices are up 9.71% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.91/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a 911 with strong owner satisfaction, solid inventory, and a market that still rewards careful shopping, the 2015 is a compelling choice. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may give you more room to negotiate, but the 2015 stands out if you want a well-regarded version of the seventh-generation car and are willing to pay for it.
