Used 2015 Lexus IS for Sale nearJersey City, NJ

How much does the 2015 Lexus IS cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 753 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price, mileage, and condition.

Is the 2015 Lexus IS a good car?

Yes — with a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating, the 2015 Lexus IS is a strong pick if you want a sporty luxury sedan. The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the sporty looks, fun driving experience, and comfortable seats. They also commonly describe it as reliable and fuel efficient, which supports its appeal as a used buy.

The trade-offs are just as clear: the ride can feel firm over bumps, and some owners have noted concerns with the transmission and sound system quality. That lines up with the car’s use case as a driver-focused sedan rather than a comfort-first luxury car.

With its emphasis on driving enjoyment, quality, and refinement, it makes the most sense if you want a premium sedan that feels engaging behind the wheel. The 29.7% share of good and great deals suggests there are still worthwhile listings to find.

Is the 2015 Lexus IS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners also describe it as reliable and fuel efficient, and the expert guidance points to better-than-average reliability for the IS 350. That combination suggests the car has the kind of dependability many used buyers want from a luxury sedan.

The ownership picture is helped by the model’s reputation for quality and refinement, and the cost-effectiveness notes reinforce that it can hold value well over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is choosing a poorly maintained example, especially if prior owners ignored the car’s sportier, more demanding character.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Lexus IS?

At 39.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Pay close attention to how the suspension feels on rough pavement, since owners note that bumps can be more noticeable.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The F Sport version adds sport seats, a sportier setup, and a more aggressive character, while the standard car is still tuned firmly enough that you should expect a road-feel-first personality.
• Powertrain: The 3.5-liter V6 delivers strong power and quick acceleration, and the lineup offers multiple powertrain options.
• Safety package: Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management groups together active safety technologies, and the car can also include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and a pre-collision system.
• Infotainment: The system uses a Remote Touch Interface, and the Navigation Package adds Enform features such as advanced voice command, Siri Eyes Free, App Suite connectivity, and Enform Remote.
• Fuel efficiency: The V6 returns 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway, with a combined estimate of 22 mpg.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 753 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 39.6% of listings are accident-free.

What is the 2015 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $17,390 sits slightly below last year's $17,470.

That small decline suggests the market has been stable rather than volatile, which is helpful if you plan to sell later. A steady price pattern can make it easier to estimate your car’s future value without worrying about sharp swings.

Because the model has held near the same price band over the past year, resale should remain relatively predictable if you keep the car in good condition and maintain service records. Strong demand for sporty, well-kept luxury sedans can also help support pricing.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Lexus IS safe?

The 2015 Lexus IS earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Good rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for moderate overlap frontal impact and side-impact protection.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety suite includes Safety Connect with automatic emergency calling after a collision, plus a reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and a pre-collision system that can prepare the brakes and automatically apply them to reduce speed before impact.

One caveat is that the IIHS had not completed its full suite of testing on the car in the provided material, so the available crash-test picture is not as complete as it could be.

Should I buy a 2015 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 39.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s a sporty, quality-focused sedan that prioritizes driving enjoyment over traditional Lexus comfort.

The bottom line: Choose the 2015 if you want the sharper, more driver-focused version of the IS and you’re comfortable shopping carefully for condition. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may offer a lower entry point, but the 2015 remains a compelling balance of value, performance, and owner satisfaction.
