Used 2015 Lexus IS for Sale nearTrenton, NJ

How much does the 2015 Lexus IS cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 764 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2015 Lexus IS a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Lexus IS earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the sporty looks, fun driving experience, and comfortable seats. The review summary also points to a car that many owners find reliable and fuel efficient, which helps reinforce its appeal as a well-rounded used luxury sedan.

The trade-offs are clear: the back seat is cramped, the suspension can feel firm over bumps, and some drivers have noted concerns with the transmission and sound system quality. That makes the IS a stronger fit if you want a stylish driver’s car than if you need maximum rear-seat comfort.

Given its sports-sedan focus and the way it balances quality with driving enjoyment, it makes the most sense if you want a premium compact sedan that feels engaging rather than soft. The market also shows 29.1% good and great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Lexus IS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary specifically points to the car as reliable, and it also describes it as fuel efficient. On the expert side, the model is framed as a Lexus that rewards you if you enjoy driving, while still carrying a reputation for quality and refinement.

The cost-effectiveness notes also say reliability is expected to be better than average for the IS 350. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure you choose a well-kept example, since condition and maintenance history matter more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Lexus IS?

At 39.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or shows signs of hard use. Focus on overall condition, since this model’s sporty setup can make wear and ride quality more noticeable over time.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The IS lineup emphasizes sporty character over traditional luxury, and the expert notes that the car does not lean heavily into comfort. Base-level equipment can feel sparse if you expect a more cushioned luxury experience.
• Powertrain: The expert test-drive notes highlight the 3.5-liter V6 in the IS 350, with strong power and quick acceleration, plus an 8-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Lexus Enform Safety Connect is included, along with a reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and a pre-collision system.
• Infotainment: The car uses a Remote Touch Interface, and the Navigation Package adds Enform features such as advanced voice command, Siri Eyes Free, App Suite connectivity, and Enform Remote app access.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test-drive data cites 19 mpg city and 28 mpg highway for the IS 350, with a combined estimate of 22 mpg mentioned in the performance discussion.

The safety content also shows that this trim can be equipped with a reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and a pre-collision system, so you should look for a well-equipped example if safety tech matters to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Lexus IS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 764 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 39.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,708, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $17,316 sits slightly below last year's $17,407.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable rather than volatile, which is helpful if you plan to resell later. A steady price pattern usually means you are less likely to see abrupt value swings, especially when the model continues to attract shoppers who want a sporty premium sedan.

The car’s strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand in the used market. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Lexus IS safe?

The Lexus IS earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Good rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for moderate overlap frontal impact and side-impact protection levels.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety equipment includes Lexus Enform Safety Connect with automatic emergency calling, plus a reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, dynamic radar cruise control, and a pre-collision system that can prepare the brakes and help reduce speed before impact.

One caveat is that the IIHS had not completed its full suite of testing on the IS in the source material, so the available crash-test picture is not as complete as it could be.

Should I buy a 2015 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 39.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert summary says these cars are multi-talented sports sedans with high levels of quality and refinement, but little in the way of traditional luxuries.

The bottom line: If you want a sporty, well-liked luxury sedan and you are willing to trade some rear-seat space and ride softness for driving enjoyment, the 2015 is a strong pick. If you are more price-sensitive, the stable market and decent deal share make it worth shopping carefully for a clean, well-maintained example rather than rushing into the first one you see.
