overall

Summary
With 369 currently listed for sale and an average price of $7,196, 26.0% of 2015 Kia Fortes for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Kia Forte 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.17 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Kia Forte stands out as a small, affordable car that is also genuinely appealing. It has an attractive design and a low starting price, which gives it broad appeal for shoppers looking for value without giving up style.
One of its biggest strengths is how much equipment Kia lets buyers add if they are willing to spend more, since the car can be furnished with a wide range of goodies. Its main drawback is a serious one, though: no amount of extra money can solve its lousy rating in a tough new crash test.

Reviewed a 2015 Kia Forte on Dec 15, 2021
It was the best deal and the best bang for the buck that’s why I bought it. It’s Peppy. It handles like some expensive luxury cars. I have a base model The LX. Even with a base model I think it should have had cruise control. It has no cruise control. Not sure I would’ve bought it if I realized that at the time of purchase.

How much does the 2015 Kia Forte cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $7,170 |
| Year-Round Low | $7,099 |
| Year-Round High | $7,956 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $7,821 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −8.33% |
Prices have softened 8.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 361 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2015 Kia Forte a good car?
Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.
The Forte’s appeal is rooted in its low starting price, attractive design, and the way Kia lets you add a wide range of equipment if you want a more upscale feel. That makes it a strong fit if you want a small car that can be basic and affordable or surprisingly well equipped, depending on trim and options.
The market also shows 26.6% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Kia Forte reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Forte’s cost-effectiveness story is helped by low predicted ownership costs, an industry-leading warranty, and strong roadside assistance support. The expert assessment also points to average long-term dependability expectations, which means you should think of it as a car with solid ownership appeal rather than a standout durability leader.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that crash-test weakness and average dependability expectations make condition and maintenance history especially important.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Kia Forte?
At 50.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or shows uneven panel gaps, paint mismatch, or tire wear. Focus on overall condition rather than just equipment level, since the Forte can be lightly or heavily optioned depending on trim and packages.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base LX is fairly well equipped, but it stands out for its cheap-looking 15-inch wheels. The EX adds a peppier engine, a standard automatic transmission, Flex Steer, aluminum wheels, automatic headlights, fog lights, LED running lights, and power-folding mirrors with LED turn-signal indicators.
- Powertrain: The EX uses a 173-hp, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The performance notes also point to a fuel economy result of 28.1 mpg in mixed driving, with official ratings of 25 mpg city and 36 mpg highway.
- Safety package: UVO eServices brings a reversing camera and connected features such as 911 Connect, Parking Minder, Find My Car, Curfew Limit, Speed Alert, and Geo Fence. The car does not include blind-spot warning or rear cross-traffic alert.
- Infotainment: UVO eServices is the key tech upgrade, and it can include navigation and a reversing camera. It also supports Bluetooth music streaming, Pandora access, and voice-command functionality.
- Fuel efficiency: The expert drive returned 28.1 mpg, with official ratings of 25 mpg city and 36 mpg highway.
Which 2015 Kia Forte trim should I buy?
The 2015 Kia Forte is offered in 2 trim levels: LX and EX.
Here's the short version:
- LX: This is the value-focused choice if you want the Forte’s low entry price and a solid equipment list without stretching the budget. It already includes air conditioning, power windows and locks, Bluetooth, USB, satellite radio, and a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and it can be upgraded with the Popular Package for more everyday convenience.
- EX: This is the best-value trim if you want the Forte to feel more complete. It adds the stronger engine, standard automatic transmission, Flex Steer, aluminum wheels, automatic headlights, fog lights, LED running lights, and more upscale interior touches, while also opening the door to richer option packages.
The safety content also notes that the Forte lacks several modern driver-assistance features, so you should not expect a full advanced safety suite on either trim.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Kia Forte?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.
- Deal availability: 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 361 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.33% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 50.1% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $7,099, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Kia Forte's resale value?
The current average of $7,170 sits slightly below last year's $7,821.
That decline suggests the Forte has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help if you buy now and plan to sell later. The current pricing trend also indicates that the market is still adjusting downward, so future sellers may need to stay competitive on condition and equipment.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Kia Forte safe?
The 2015 Kia Forte earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, and in other IIHS tests the Forte earns top marks.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
The safety story is mixed because the Forte lacks many preventative safety technologies beyond UVO-related services and the reversing camera. It also has a weak small-overlap frontal result that improved only from Poor to Marginal, which is still a notable shortcoming for used shoppers to weigh carefully.
Should I buy a 2015 Kia Forte or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 50.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.33% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 brings attractive styling, a low starting price, and a wide range of available equipment.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $6,482, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $7,170 average.
- The 2014 is a more complete and competitive small car with strong everyday usability and a polished interior.
The bottom line: If you want the newer car with a softer market price and strong equipment potential, the 2015 is the better primary choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2014 is the smarter price-sensitive alternative.
