overall

Summary
With 388 currently listed for sale and an average price of $7,195.00, 23.7% of 2015 Kia Fortes for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Kia Forte 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.17 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Kia Forte stands out as a small, affordable car that is also genuinely appealing. It combines an attractive design with a low starting price, which gives it broad appeal for buyers who want value without giving up style.
One of its biggest strengths is how much equipment it can offer if you are willing to spend more, since the car can be furnished with a wide range of goodies. Its main drawback is harder to overlook: no matter how much money you spend, its primary problem remains a lousy rating in a tough new crash test.

Reviewed a 2015 Kia Forte on Dec 15, 2021
It was the best deal and the best bang for the buck that’s why I bought it. It’s Peppy. It handles like some expensive luxury cars. I have a base model The LX. Even with a base model I think it should have had cruise control. It has no cruise control. Not sure I would’ve bought it if I realized that at the time of purchase.

| Current Average Price | $7,121 |
| Year-Round Low | $7,092.95 |
| Year-Round High | $7,954.35 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $7,857 |

There are 363 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
If you find a listing below $7,092.95, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2015 Kia Forte a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Kia Forte earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating.
The Forte’s appeal comes from its attractive design, low starting price, and the way it can be equipped with a wide range of features if you move up the lineup. The expert review also highlights strong technology, with a 10/10 score in that category, and notes that the car can feel much more upscale when properly equipped.
The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.
For you, that means the Forte makes the most sense if you want a small car that feels more polished and feature-rich than a basic commuter. 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2015 Kia Forte reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Forte is described as appealing on several cost-effectiveness fronts, including low expected ownership costs and an industry-leading warranty. The expert review also says Kia’s long-term dependability is expected to be average, while the car’s value retention is also rated average.
The performance notes point to a 173-hp 2.0-liter 4-cylinder in the EX, plus standard 4-wheel-disc brakes that provide strong stopping power and well-calibrated pedal feel. The cost-effectiveness section also points to low predicted ownership costs and strong warranty coverage.
For used buyers, that means the main long-term risk is less about day-to-day satisfaction and more about making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been compromised by prior damage.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Kia Forte?
At 48.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in any prior collision. Pay close attention to bodywork quality, panel alignment, and whether the car’s equipment and safety systems still function as intended.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The LX is the more basic version, with cheap-looking 15-inch wheels and a simpler equipment list, while the EX adds a peppier engine, standard automatic transmission, Flex Steer, aluminum wheels, automatic headlights, fog lights, LED running lights, and power-folding mirrors with LED turn-signal indicators.
- Powertrain: The EX uses a 173-hp, 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission, and the review notes that fuel economy averaged 28.1 mpg during testing.
- Safety package: UVO eServices and the reversing camera are the main added safety-related tech features mentioned, but the car lacks blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert systems.
- Infotainment: UVO eServices includes Bluetooth streaming, Pandora access, Parking Minder, 911 Connect, navigation, and voice-command functionality; the system is paired with a reversing camera and can include expanded connected features.
- Fuel efficiency: The expert review cites 25 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway, with a tested average of 28.1 mpg.
Which 2015 Kia Forte trim should I buy?
The 2015 Kia Forte is offered in 2 trim levels: LX and EX.
Here's the short version:
- LX: This is the value-focused choice if you want the Forte’s low entry price and a decent equipment list without stretching the budget. It includes air conditioning, power windows, power door locks, Bluetooth, a USB port, satellite radio, and a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and it can be upgraded with the Popular Package for more everyday convenience features.
- EX: This is the best-value trim if you want the Forte to feel more complete. It adds the stronger engine, standard automatic transmission, Flex Steer, aluminum wheels, automatic headlights, fog lights, LED running lights, and power-folding mirrors, while also opening the door to more upscale comfort and tech packages.
The safety content notes that Kia did not equip the Forte with many preventative safety technologies, and the reversing camera is one of the few notable safety-related additions.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Kia Forte?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.
- Deal availability: 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 363 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.37% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 48.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $7,092.95, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Kia Forte's resale value?
The current average of $7,121 sits slightly below last year's $7,857.
That price movement suggests the Forte has softened enough to create a better buying opportunity now, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays soft. If you buy at a favorable price and keep the car in strong condition, you give yourself a better chance of limiting depreciation pain later.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Kia Forte safe?
The Forte earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, but its small overlap frontal-impact result is Marginal from IIHS.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
The safety content says Kia did not give the Forte many preventative safety technologies beyond UVO-related services and the reversing camera. It also notes the absence of blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert systems, which are important modern safety features you may want to prioritize when shopping.
The main caveat is the small overlap frontal-impact result, which improved from Poor to Marginal but still falls short of what you’d want from a top-tier safety performer. For used buyers, that makes condition, equipment verification, and a clean history especially important.
Should I buy a 2015 Kia Forte or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 25.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 48.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.37% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 stands out for its attractive design, low starting price, and especially strong technology.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $6,681, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $7,121 average.
- It is described as a more complete and competitive small car with style, space, efficiency, and in-car tech.
The bottom line: If you want the stronger shopping case today, the 2015 is the better target because it combines a lower average price than last year with solid user satisfaction and strong tech appeal. If your priority is simply spending less up front, the 2014 is the more budget-friendly alternative and still brings many of the Forte’s core strengths.
