How much does the 2015 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 7.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,826 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4.47/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

Owners consistently praise its ruggedness, off-road capability, and the fun of driving it. The Wrangler’s removable tops and doors also come up often, along with its unique look, which helps explain why it appeals to buyers who want character as much as utility.

That said, the Wrangler is best suited to you if you value capability and personality over comfort and convenience. The market also shows 32.2% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.47/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people trust for rugged use, off-road capability, and a generally trouble-free ownership experience when judged by satisfaction. The expert test-drive notes also emphasize that the Wrangler’s 3.6-liter V6 is a marked improvement over older powerplants, with better acceleration and cruising speed than previous models.

The Wrangler’s first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which is a small ownership perk if you’re comparing long-term costs. Even so, you should expect higher long-term ownership risk if you buy one that has been modified heavily or used hard off road.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler?

At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the Wrangler has been lifted, fitted with larger tires, or used off road. Pay close attention to signs of rust, suspension wear, and any evidence of hard use, since condition can vary widely from one example to the next.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport starts with 16-inch steel wheels, while the Sport S adds 17-inch wheels and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Sahara adds larger 18-inch wheels and more creature comforts, while the Rubicon editions sit at the top for off-roading with heavy-duty skid plates, a heavy-duty transfer case, disconnecting sway bars, and Dana 44 axles front and rear.
• Powertrain: All Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited models use a 3.6-liter V6 with 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual is standard, and a 5-speed automatic is available across the lineup. Fuel economy is 17 mpg city and 21 highway.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes antilock disc brakes on all four wheels, electronic stability control, and traction control. Frontal-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning indicators are not available.
• Infotainment: Jeep includes an upgraded sound system, and an available 9-speaker Alpine audio system is offered. Navigation and heated seats are also available.
• Fuel efficiency: The Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited return 17 mpg city and 21 highway.

Which 2015 Jeep Wrangler trim should I buy?

The 2015 Jeep Wrangler is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Wrangler basics at the lowest price. It makes the most sense if you want the core Wrangler experience and plan to keep things simple.
• Sahara: This trim adds more creature comforts, including larger 18-inch wheels and available leather, so it’s the better fit if you want a more comfortable daily driver. It’s the best-value trim for buyers who want a nicer cabin without jumping to the top off-road model.
• Rubicon: This is the one to choose if off-road ability is your priority. It adds heavy-duty skid plates, a heavy-duty transfer case, disconnecting sway bars, and Dana 44 axles front and rear.

Safety-wise, the Wrangler does not offer frontal-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, or lane-departure warning indicators.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Jeep Wrangler?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,826 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,434, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $16,434 sits slightly below last year's $17,687.

That price movement suggests the Wrangler has softened enough to create a better entry point for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. Because the model still has strong enthusiast appeal and a clear identity, well-kept examples should continue to draw attention.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.47/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Jeep Wrangler safe?

The Wrangler received a Moderate rating in small-overlap front collisions and head restraints and seats, a Poor rating in side collisions, and a Good rating in moderate-overlap front collisions from IIHS. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the Wrangler only three-star ratings in a rollover crash.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The Wrangler’s standard safety equipment includes antilock disc brakes on all four wheels, electronic stability control, and traction control. Frontal-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning indicators are not available, and supplemental front airbags are a $495 option.

Should I buy a 2015 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.47/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 adds an upgraded sound system and fresh editions, while Rubicon trims deliver uncompromising off-road performance.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $15,463, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $16,434 average.
• It is a rugged, affordable off-road icon with clear adventure focus.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,462, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $16,434 average.
• It adds a convertible top, year-round 4WD, and unmistakably Jeep styling.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2015 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 can save you money, while the 2016 is worth a look if you want the next-year update and are willing to pay more.
