How much does the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 9.98% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 169 listings available, which suggests a modest but workable amount of inventory for shoppers.

Is the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. It is positioned as a crossover that balances everyday practicality with a more engaging driving character, and the overview highlights its useful size and strong get-up-and-go. The expert review also notes that it is attractive and fun to drive, while the cabin and safety performance are the main tradeoffs. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

The market shows 27.2% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview presents it as a practical crossover with broad appeal, while the expert review adds that ownership costs are expected to be relatively low thanks in part to Hyundai’s warranty and roadside assistance coverage. The performance notes also point to a strong turbocharged engine and improved ride quality, which can support day-to-day usability if you keep up with maintenance.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that the turbocharged engine can be thirsty, so condition and service history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe?

At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with prior bodywork. Focus on overall condition, signs of incomplete repairs, and whether the equipment you want is actually present on the trim you are viewing.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard trims are relatively stripped compared with the turbocharged versions, and the least expensive base trim does not get a reversing camera.
• Powertrain: The turbocharged 4-cylinder engine delivers strong acceleration and passing power, but it can be thirsty.
• Safety package: Blue Link includes automatic collision notification, an SOS emergency assistance button, and enhanced roadside assistance; blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assist are optional on base trims and standard on 2.0T trims.
• Infotainment: Blue Link adds remote vehicle access, alarm notification, stolen-vehicle slowdown and recovery, and smartphone-based car finding; the Guidance Package adds voice-activated Google destination search and turn-by-turn directions.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model is estimated at 19 mpg city, 26 highway, and 22 combined.

Which 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 2 trim levels: Santa Fe Sport and Santa Fe Sport 2.0T.

Here's the short version:

• Santa Fe Sport: This is the trim to consider if you want the lower entry point and are willing to keep your expectations modest on standard equipment. The review says the standard trims are relatively stripped compared with the turbocharged versions, and the least expensive base trim lacks a reversing camera.
• Santa Fe Sport 2.0T: This is the better-value choice if you want the stronger turbocharged engine and more of the available safety equipment. The review says blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assist are standard on 2.0T trims, and the turbo model is the one singled out for its strong performance and fun-to-drive character.

Hyundai’s safety features are more complete on the 2.0T trims, while base trims leave some helpful driver-assistance tech optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 169 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.98% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,553, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $9,555 sits slightly below last year's $10,614.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of further depreciation. The model’s value story is better for shoppers focused on near-term ownership than for those expecting strong appreciation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a Marginal rating in the IIHS small overlap frontal-impact test.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai’s Blue Link system includes automatic collision notification, an SOS emergency assistance button, and enhanced roadside assistance. The Santa Fe Sport can also be equipped with a reversing camera, and blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assist are available, with those features standard on 2.0T trims and optional on base trims.

The main safety caveat is the Marginal IIHS result, which keeps this model from reaching the top tier of crash-test recognition.

Should I buy a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.98% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 stands out for its engaging driving character, but safety remains its biggest concern.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $9,292, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $9,555 average.
• It is a practical three-row SUV with room for six sizable people.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market value and the more engaging driving character, the 2015 is the better target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2014 is the more budget-friendly path.

How does the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe compare to the 2015 Kia Sorento?

Our experts score the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe 7.3/10 and the 2015 Kia Sorento 6.8/10. The Santa Fe is the stronger pick if you care more about driving character and overall expert score. The Sorento has the lower average used price and a larger pool of listings, which may make it easier to shop. The Santa Fe also has the weaker accident-free share, so condition checks matter more if you choose it.
