overall

Summary
With 2,162 currently listed for sale and an average price of $12,136.00, 31.8% of 2015 Honda Civics for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Honda Civic 4.5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.67 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Honda Civic stands out as a compact economy car that delivers the basics buyers want with unusual ease. It is described as meeting and exceeding small-car preferences for reliability, safety, fuel efficiency, quality, and value, which makes it appealing to shoppers who want a straightforward used car that feels well-rounded rather than compromised.
What also helps the 2015 Civic’s appeal is how broadly it fits everyday use. Owner feedback echoes the same strengths, especially reliability, fuel efficiency, and a user-friendly design, while also pointing to a smooth ride and a spacious interior that suit commuters and first-time buyers. The main tradeoff is that some drivers find it lacking in power and missing features compared with newer models, so it is best viewed as a practical, value-focused choice rather than an especially exciting one.

The 2015 civic is a great value and great first car for a student or a commuter. It has great road feel, spunky power response, and good features. The visibility with the A-pillars is great thanks to the extra window. It will typically cost more vs. other competitors in the same class, but once you drive it you will understand why. I drove a Hyundai Elantra, which has almost all the same feature offerings in terms of technology and safety. For me, the Civic feels lighter, more powerful, more responsive.

| Year-Round High | $12,297.81 |

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.
There are 2,154 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
If you find a listing below $11,431.30, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Honda Civic earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, and user-friendly design. The roomy interior and smooth ride also come up often, which fits a car aimed at commuters and first-time buyers. The overview points to a compact sedan that balances comfort, safety, and efficiency well for everyday use.
With 28.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback repeatedly highlights reliability, and the expert evaluation reinforces that with language about strong reliability and value. The driving notes also point to a refined, composed car that feels built for steady everyday use. The cost-effectiveness section adds that Honda included 3 years or 36,000 miles of free roadside assistance, which is a useful ownership perk.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about finding a car that has been maintained well and not worn down by age or mileage.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Honda Civic?
At 49.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the car’s features work as expected. Because this model year has a wide spread of listings, the best examples are the ones with clean documentation and consistent upkeep.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: Base LX trims are the most affordable, while the EX Sedan adds a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, HondaLink connectivity and services, automatic climate control, LaneWatch technology, push-button engine start, a power sunroof, automatic headlights, and aluminum wheels.
- Powertrain: Most versions use a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine with 143 hp and a CVT. The setup is smooth and efficient rather than quick, and the CVT is tuned to feel more like a traditional automatic under acceleration.
- Safety package: The Civic includes a standard reversing camera, and LaneWatch is standard on all but the LX and SE trims. HondaLink Assist can automatically call authorities after a collision when paired and enabled.
- Infotainment: Higher trims get a 7-inch touchscreen with HondaLink smartphone connectivity and services. It supports apps, navigation through a paired smartphone, and Siri Eyes Free with iPhone pairing.
- Fuel efficiency: The EPA says the Civic should get 33 mpg in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 31.9 mpg. The cost-effectiveness section also points to good gas mileage and low ownership costs.
Which 2015 Honda Civic trim should I buy?
The 2015 Honda Civic is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, SE, EX Sedan, and Civic Si.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: LX is the budget choice, but it misses the touchscreen infotainment system and LaneWatch, which are part of the more feature-rich trims.
- Sweet-spot trim: EX Sedan is the best all-around pick if you want the touchscreen, HondaLink, automatic climate control, push-button start, and a sunroof without moving into a sportier setup.
- Premium/top trim: Civic Si is the most fun-to-drive version, making it the best choice if you care more about performance than everyday value.
- Off-road trim: Civic Si is the one to skip if you want the calmest daily-driver experience, since the performance focus is less about comfort and more about driving enjoyment.
LaneWatch is standard on all but the LX and SE trims, so those lower trims are the ones to watch most closely if that feature matters to you.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Honda Civic?
This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.
- Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 2,154 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 49.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $11,431.30, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Honda Civic's resale value?
The current average of $12,164 sits slightly below last year's $12,202.
That small decline suggests the market has stayed fairly stable rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of movement usually points to predictable depreciation instead of a sudden drop in value. If you keep the car in strong condition and maintain it well, you should be in a better position when it comes time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Honda Civic safe?
It earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The Civic comes with a standard reversing camera, and HondaLink Assist can automatically contact authorities after a collision when paired and enabled. LaneWatch is standard on all but the LX and SE trims, adding a camera-based blind-spot view on the passenger side. The main caveat is that this system is not as intuitive as a traditional blind-spot monitor, so you may want to test it carefully during your drive.
Should I buy a 2015 Honda Civic or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 49.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 stands out for reliability, safety, fuel efficiency, quality, and value.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $11,288, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $12,164 average.
- It offers a refined, dependable, and efficient compact-sedan package.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $14,046, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $12,164 average.
- It brings a bolder redesign with more modern styling and upgraded tech.
The bottom line: You should buy the 2015 if you want a balanced Civic with strong value, solid safety, and proven owner satisfaction. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 is the better price-first alternative. If you want a more modern feel and can spend more, the 2016 is the upgrade path to consider.
