How much does the 2015 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices have softened 2.48% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,567 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and equipment.

Is the 2015 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Ford Mustang earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the power, handling, classic design, comfort, and nostalgic feel. That lines up with the car’s role as a redesigned, more technologically advanced version of Ford’s iconic sports coupe, so you get heritage appeal with broader everyday appeal than older Mustangs.

The market also looks reasonably accessible, with 31.2% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2015 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable and satisfying to live with, with repeated praise for its power, handling, comfort, and classic appeal. The expert assessment also notes that Mustangs have historically been slightly better than average in quality, dependability, and ownership costs.

The performance write-up adds that the car’s brakes stayed composed during extended driving, and the manual transmission felt refined and easy to use, which supports the impression of a well-sorted drivetrain. The cost-effectiveness discussion also notes that the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this redesigned model’s added technology could introduce more complexity than earlier Mustangs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Mustang?

At 55.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or heavily driven. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, tire wear, brake condition, and any electrical or infotainment quirks. Because some owners reported missing advertised features and minor quality concerns, it’s worth confirming that the car matches its listing and that all equipment works as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GT test car was sparsely equipped and lacked Ford’s MyFord Touch infotainment system, while optional Recaro performance seats and extra-cost paint changed the feel and price of the car. That means base and lower-equipped cars may feel simpler inside, so you should check whether the features you want are actually present.
• Powertrain: The lineup includes a 5.0-liter V8 with 435 hp and a turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder with 310 hp. The V8 is the emotional choice, while the EcoBoost is the budget-friendly option that can still be paired with a manual gearbox and Performance Package.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes MyKey, a reversing camera, and Sync Bluetooth with 911 Assist. Available safety tech includes blind-spot information with cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control, so make sure the car you’re considering has the driver-assistance features you want.
• Infotainment: An optional MyFord Touch system brings an 8-inch touchscreen, with navigation and premium audio with HD Radio available after that. The standard setup relies more on knobs and buttons, and Sync Bluetooth is easy to use for calls and music streaming.
• Fuel efficiency: The GT returned 18.6 mpg in testing, while the EcoBoost version was reported at 23.2 mpg.

Which 2015 Ford Mustang trim should I buy?

The 2015 Ford Mustang is offered in 2 trim levels: GT, EcoBoost.

Here's the short version:

• EcoBoost: This is the better-value choice if you want Mustang style and strong performance without stepping straight into V8 territory. It’s the trim to consider if you care about the available Performance Package and want a more affordable path into the lineup.
• GT: This is the enthusiast pick, thanks to the 5.0-liter V8, 435 hp, and the more dramatic performance character that defines the Mustang nameplate. If you want the loudest, most visceral version, this is the one to buy.

The safety content notes that MyKey is standard, while blind-spot information with cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control are available rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Mustang?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,567 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.48% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,603, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $19,833 sits slightly below last year's $20,337.

That decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also temper near-term appreciation if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that pricing has already adjusted downward, so holding out for a major rebound may not be realistic in the short term.

The good news is that strong enthusiast demand can support resale stability, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment and clean history. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Ford Mustang safe?

The 2015 Ford Mustang earns five-star ratings from NHTSA for nearly all assessments, including rollover resistance, and the IIHS rates it Good in the moderate overlap frontal-impact test.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes MyKey, which lets you set speed and stereo-volume limits and encourages seat-belt use, plus a reversing camera and Sync Bluetooth with 911 Assist. Available driver-assistance features include blind-spot information with cross-traffic alert and adaptive cruise control.

Should I buy a 2015 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.48% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Ford’s redesign makes this year a big step forward in both dynamics and technology.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $15,689, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $19,833 average.
• It feels like the most mature version of the long-running Mustang formula.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $19,063, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $19,833 average.
• It adds fresh styling touches and Sync 3 for a more updated tech experience.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Mustang with strong owner satisfaction and a broad mix of listings, the 2015 is the primary target. If your budget is tighter, the 2014 is the value play; if you want newer tech and a few extra updates, the 2016 is the better alternative.
