Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Ford Focus 4.5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.33 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Ford Focus stands out for its European-influenced ride and handling, which gives it a more polished feel than many shoppers might expect. It was engineered in Europe, built in Michigan, and offered in a variety of configurations, helping make it a more sophisticated small car than its everyday reputation suggests.
That character is part of what makes the 2015 Ford Focus appealing to buyers: it aims to deliver the kind of driving experience associated with a well-sorted hatchback, while still being an accessible mainstream choice. Owners also praise its comfort, style, value for money, and spaciousness. A notable drawback, however, is that some drivers have experienced issues with the automatic transmission, which has been a common concern.

A very economical car to buy , and maintain. Extremely fuel efficient and cheap to repair. Not loaded with modern technology but enough to make you comfortable. The main two issues to watch for are rust around the wheel wells and dual clutch assembly in the transmission.

I absolutely love my Ford! I fell in love with the car when I saw it. It has all the features I was looking for and is my favorite color. It’s very comfortable, cute and drives well. It’s quite sturdy, has a lot of space and does well on gas. Definitely worth the buy

2015 Ford Focus Price Trends
CarGurus tracks the prices of millions of used car listings every year. See how the average price of 2015 Ford Focus prices has changed over time.
See more price trendsHow much does the 2015 Ford Focus cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $7,669 |
| Year-Round Low | $7,493.85 |
| Year-Round High | $8,272.21 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $8,276 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −7.34% |
Prices have softened 7.34% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,324 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable number of options to compare. If you find a listing below $7,493.85, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2015 Ford Focus a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Ford Focus earns a 4.5/5 user rating, and our experts rate it 6.33/10. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.
Owners consistently praise its comfort, style, value for money, and spaciousness. The overview also points to a more polished driving experience than many shoppers expect, with European-influenced ride and handling that gives it a more sophisticated feel. For you, that means this model year fits especially well if you want a mainstream small car that still feels engaging and well put together.
Only 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful comparison shopping.
Is the 2015 Ford Focus reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner summary points to comfort, style, value for money, and spaciousness, while also noting that some drivers have faced automatic transmission issues. The expert test-drive notes say the transmission has improved and should no longer inspire the same level of frustration, and the cost-effectiveness section suggests the car is largely competitive aside from concerns tied to the transmission and infotainment system. Ford also improved the transmission and infotainment over time, which helps the case for this model year.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the transmission and electronics have been well cared for.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Focus?
At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus your attention on transmission behavior, cabin electronics, and signs that the car has been used hard or maintained inconsistently. If you are comparing multiple listings, condition and documented upkeep should matter more than cosmetic extras.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base S trim is sedan-only and starts with a more limited feature set, while the SE opens up more options. Titanium adds a more upscale appearance with features like keyless access, push-button start, a keyless entry pad, remote start, one-touch operation of all four windows, and hill-start assist.
- Powertrain: Most versions use a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 160 horsepower. A 6-speed manual is standard, and a 6-speed automated manual transmission is optional. The automated manual has been a source of owner dissatisfaction, so you should pay close attention to how it shifts.
- Safety package: Ford’s safety suite includes blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a standard reversing camera, and MyKey. Forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking are not available.
- Infotainment: The car uses MyFord Touch rather than Sync 3. The system lacks modern graphics, gesture control, natural voice recognition, and mobile Wi-Fi connectivity, though phone pairing and navigation voice prompts work.
- Fuel efficiency: The expert test drive returned 30.7 mpg, compared with an EPA combined estimate of 30 mpg.
Which 2015 Ford Focus trim should I buy?
The 2015 Ford Focus is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SE, Titanium, ST, and Electric.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The S trim is the most stripped-down choice, and it is sedan-only. If you want the least expensive path into the Focus, this is it, but you give up the richer feature content found higher up the range.
- Sweet-spot trim: The SE is the best value for most shoppers because it opens the door to a broader array of options without pushing you into the pricier luxury or performance variants.
- Premium/top trim: Titanium is the most appealing mainstream upgrade if you want a more upscale look and feel, plus features like keyless access, push-button start, remote start, and hill-start assist.
- Off-road trim: The ST is the performance-focused choice, but it is not the best fit if you want a typical daily driver.
The safety package adds useful driver aids, but it still does not include forward-collision warning or automatic emergency braking.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Focus?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.
- Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,324 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.34% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 61.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $7,493.85, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Ford Focus's resale value?
The current average of $7,669 sits slightly below last year's $8,276.
That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit near-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the car in strong condition, because condition and maintenance history will matter more when the market is already price-sensitive. A well-kept example should still attract interest from shoppers who value comfort, style, and space.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Ford Focus safe?
It earns an overall rating of 5 stars from NHTSA, and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it favorable ratings, though those apply only to the 4-door sedan and not the 5-door hatchback.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Ford’s safety suite includes blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a standard reversing camera, and MyKey. The system does not include forward-collision warning or automatic emergency braking, which are notable omissions for shoppers who prioritize the latest crash-avoidance tech. The IIHS caveat is especially important if you are considering the hatchback.
Should I buy a 2015 Ford Focus or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 7.34% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The refreshed model adds more safety technology and a more polished feel.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $7,050, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $7,669 average.
- It feels more substantial and composed, with a solid chassis and responsive suspension.
Consider the 2016 if:
