Used 2015 Ford Expedition for Sale nearSaint Louis, MO

How much does the 2015 Ford Expedition cost?

Prices have softened 5.90% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 582 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2015 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The 2015 model keeps the Expedition’s familiar full-size SUV formula while adding a more fuel-efficient EcoBoost V6, so you get a large, established three-row SUV with a meaningful mechanical update. It also scores 9/10 across Performance, Technology, and Safety.

The model’s 32.8% good or great deal share suggests there are still worthwhile listings to find if you shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2015 Expedition’s appeal comes from its established design, roomy packaging, and the shift to a more efficient EcoBoost V6, which gives it a modern mechanical foundation. Its expert evaluation also points to strong performance and solid safety, both of which support confidence in daily use and family hauling.

Ford’s powertrain update is a positive sign for dependability-minded shoppers because it replaces the older V8 with a newer turbocharged setup that still delivers strong output. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is the usual one for a large, high-use SUV: maintenance and wear can add up quickly if the vehicle has been worked hard or neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Expedition?

At 60.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on any listing with towing use, bodywork, or uneven tire wear. Focus on overall condition, because a large SUV like this can hide expensive wear in the suspension, brakes, and interior if it has been used heavily.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XLT is the base trim and comes with manual air conditioning, rear auxiliary climate control, power windows and door locks, a reverse-sensing system, a rear-view camera, and a 4.2-inch display, while higher trims add more comfort, convenience, and technology. The Limited and above bring more luxury equipment, and the Platinum sits at the top with nearly all available features.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses the new 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost with 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque paired with a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission, and there is no V8 option. The change improves efficiency while still giving the Expedition strong highway power.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, rear-door child-safety locks, power 4-wheel antilock disc brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, a tire pressure monitoring system, SOS post-crash alert system, rear-view camera, and reverse-sensing system. AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control and traction control are standard on RWD models, while Control Trac 4WD is available.
• Infotainment: The XLT uses Sync with MyFord Voice with a 4.2-inch screen, voice activation, AM/FM/SiriusXM satellite radio, a single-disc CD player, USB port, AppLink, and 911 Assist. Higher trims get Sync with MyFord Touch with an 8-inch touchscreen, two 4.2-inch cluster screens, and a second USB port.
• Fuel efficiency: The Expedition is EPA rated at 15 mpg city/20 highway/17 combined, and the test-drive average came in at 16.8 mpg.

Which 2015 Ford Expedition trim should I buy?

The 2015 Ford Expedition is offered in 8 trim levels: XLT, XLT EL, XLT Premium, Limited, Limited EL, King Ranch, King Ranch EL, Platinum, and Platinum EL.

Here's the short version:

• XLT: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Expedition experience with the new EcoBoost V6, seating for eight, a rear-view camera, reverse sensing, and the basic Sync with MyFord Voice system. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the lineup, but you’ll be giving up a lot of convenience and tech.
• XLT EL: Choose this if you want the same equipment as the XLT but need the longer wheelbase for more space. It’s the practical pick if cargo room matters more than luxury features.
• XLT Premium: This package adds dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, a premium audio setup with subwoofer, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and woodgrain trim accents. It’s the best-value step up if you want a nicer cabin without jumping all the way to a luxury trim.
• Limited: This is where the Expedition starts to feel much more upscale, with standard heated and cooled front seats, HD Radio, a power liftgate, second-row heated outboard seats, dual-zone climate control, remote start, and forward sensing. It’s the sweet spot for many shoppers because it adds a lot of comfort and convenience.
• Limited EL: Pick this if you want the Limited’s equipment with the longer wheelbase. It keeps the same feature set while giving you more room.
• King Ranch: This trim adds distinctive Mesa Brown leather, special exterior badging, power deployable running boards, a power moonroof, and more upscale interior touches. It suits you if you want a more distinctive, premium-feeling Expedition.
• King Ranch EL: This is the long-wheelbase version of the King Ranch, so you get the same upscale character with added space.
• Platinum: This is the top trim and makes nearly every available feature standard, including the most luxurious equipment in the lineup. It’s the right choice if you want the most fully loaded Expedition and don’t mind paying for it.
• Platinum EL: Choose this if you want the top trim’s full feature set with the longer wheelbase.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, and the available blind-spot information system with cross-traffic alert is worth seeking out on higher-spec examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Expedition?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you have room to be selective without waiting forever for the right truck.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 582 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.90% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,262, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $11,610 sits slightly below last year's $12,338.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point if you plan to keep the vehicle for a while. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on market momentum alone.

Because this model year still has meaningful demand and a broad buyer base, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than neglected ones. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Ford Expedition safe?

The 2015 Ford Expedition earns five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, with five-star frontal and side crash ratings and four-star rollover ratings for 4WD models and three-star rollover ratings for RWD versions.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Expedition’s standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, rear-door child-safety locks, power 4-wheel antilock disc brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, a tire pressure monitoring system, SOS post-crash alert system, a rear-view camera, and reverse-sensing system. AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control and traction control are standard on RWD models, and Control Trac 4WD is available.

A blind-spot information system, cross-traffic alert, and forward sensing system are available on higher trims or as options, so you should look for those features if safety tech matters to you. The rollover rating is the main caveat, especially if you’re considering an RWD example.

Should I buy a 2015 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.90% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Cosmetic changes are minimal this year, but Ford’s switch to the more fuel-efficient EcoBoost V6 is the key update that makes this model year stand out.

The bottom line: The 2015 Expedition is the right pick if you want the updated powertrain and a familiar full-size SUV package at a softened price. If you’re shopping mainly on value, you can be selective and target well-kept examples; if you want the newest tech or a broader set of modern convenience features, a later year may be worth considering.
