How much does the 2015 Ford Escape cost?

Prices have softened 5.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,149 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape a good car?

Generally — the 2015 Ford Escape earns a 4.36/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its value for money, performance, power, and functionality. The Escape also gets credit for its driving experience and for feeling like a more polished, upscale family crossover than its price might suggest. In practical terms, it fits buyers who want a car-like crossover with extra ride height, a handy liftgate, and more cargo utility than a sedan.

The market also shows 31.3% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 4.36/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a vehicle that many owners found dependable and satisfying over time, with repeated praise for value, performance, and functionality. The expert evaluation also describes it as a solid, responsive crossover that feels composed on the road and built to handle everyday use with confidence. On the cost side, it can be loaded with luxury and technology without necessarily pushing into the highest price brackets, which helps keep ownership expectations grounded.

That said, some owners mentioned reliability concerns, so a careful used buyer should still prioritize maintenance records and a thorough pre-purchase inspection.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Ford Escape?

At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then focus your inspection on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of wear that could hint at harder use or incomplete repairs. It also makes sense to compare trim equipment carefully, since the Escape’s feature set changes a lot as you move up the lineup.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S starts with manual cloth seats, air conditioning, a 6-speaker audio system, and a manual liftgate, while higher trims add more comfort and convenience. The Titanium brings full leather-trimmed seats with heated, power-adjustable front buckets and a liftgate that opens with a foot gesture, so it is the most upscale choice.
• Powertrain: The Escape offers a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, a 1.6-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder, and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost 4-cylinder. The turbocharged engines deliver strong power over a wide range of engine speeds, and all versions use regular fuel.
• Safety package: Available safety tech includes blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts, a rear-view camera, electronic stability control, and Curve Control. Active Park Assist is also available, and some features are part of the broader technology package rather than every trim.
• Infotainment: The Escape uses MyFordTouch with a quadrant-style central display, Sync voice control, and available Bluetooth, USB, auxiliary input, HD Radio, and SiriusXM support. The system is updateable through software, but internet connectivity is not offered.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter EcoBoost AWD setup is rated at 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, and the driving notes also mention about 23.5 mpg combined in real-world use.

Which 2015 Ford Escape trim should I buy?

The 2015 Ford Escape is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SE, and Titanium.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest way into the Escape, with the 2.5-liter engine, a 6-speed automatic, cloth seats, air conditioning, and a manual liftgate. It makes sense if you want the lowest entry point and do not need the extra convenience features.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine and a more complete feature set without jumping all the way to the top. It is the trim to target if you want a balanced mix of equipment and price.
• Titanium: This is the upscale choice, with leather-trimmed seating, heated and power-adjustable front seats, and the foot-activated liftgate. Choose it if you want the most comfort and convenience the Escape offers.

Safety tech such as blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alerts, Active Park Assist, and Curve Control helps broaden the Escape’s appeal across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,149 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.43% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,278, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $8,290 sits slightly below last year's $8,766.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more approachable for used buyers, which can help demand stay healthy in the near term. For a future seller, that means your best resale outcome will likely depend on condition, mileage, and trim appeal rather than broad market appreciation. Well-equipped examples should still draw interest, but you should not expect a strong upward price swing from the market alone.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.36/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Ford Escape safe?

The Escape earns four-star ratings overall from NHTSA and five-star ratings for side crash protection, while the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it Good ratings for almost all categories but Poor in the small overlap frontal test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety suite includes blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alerts, a rear-view camera, electronic stability control, and Curve Control. Active Park Assist is also available to help with parallel parking. The main caveat is the poor small overlap frontal result, which is worth keeping in mind if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2015 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.36/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 stands out for its polished feel, strong performance, and upscale available features.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $8,968, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $8,290 average.
• It adds Sync 3, a newer infotainment system.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2015 is the smarter starting point because pricing has eased and inventory is healthy. If you care more about the newer infotainment experience and are willing to pay more, the 2016 is the better alternative.
