CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Dodge Dart
overall

Summary
With 334 currently listed for sale and an average price of $6,774, 26.0% of 2015 Dodge Dart listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Dodge Dart 4.75 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.5 / 10.
52.7% of 2015 Dodge Dart listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Dodge Dart stands out as a compact car that is much bigger than you’d expect, which gives it a different feel from many budget-minded rivals. It can also be fun in moments, and that sense of liveliness is part of its appeal for buyers who want something practical without giving up all personality.
For 2015, the Dart changes little from the previous year, but it does add a Blacktop appearance package to SXT trims. The Aero trim is the only Dart available with the 1.4-liter turbo 4-cylinder, while the 2.4-liter four extends to the SXT, GT, and Limited trims. That range of engines and trims gives the car some flexibility, and the Dart is described as a versatile car built on a solid platform.
At the same time, the 2015 Dodge Dart is said to hide a lot of its best qualities while trying to please everyone, all the time. That makes it appealing in some respects, but also suggests a car whose strengths may not be immediately obvious to every shopper.

I bought 2 Dodge Dart GTs in the last 15 months for my kids. The GT is a very nice car with nice interior and excellent stereo. The gas milage is also good. The only dislike for me is the high performance tires. Not a big fan of them in wet or snowy conditions. Overall, a very good car and glad we have them.

Impressed with what power it does have. I can tell the difference between my old 2008 Charger but it definitely isn't a slow turd by far. Very responsive and does great on gas! The amount of tech and quality inside is awesome! Handles the turns pretty good.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or electrical repairs. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and whether the car’s features and trim equipment still work as intended.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The SE is the base trim with a 2.0-liter engine, manual transmission, CD player, 16-inch steel wheels, and a USB port. The SXT adds a 2.4-liter engine, Bluetooth connectivity, steering-wheel-mounted controls, and cruise control, while the Aero and Limited trims add higher-end equipment such as the 8-inch touchscreen, power seats, 17-inch wheels, and a 7-inch multifunction display. The GT adds a tuned suspension, revised engine calibration, black front fascia, 18-inch wheels, and Nappa leather.
- Powertrain: The Dart offers a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder in the SE, a 1.4-liter turbo 4-cylinder in the Aero, and a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder in the SXT, GT, and Limited. The 1.4-liter turbo is the efficiency play and can top 40 mpg on the highway, while the 2.4-liter is the strongest and most fun of the group.
- Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes driver and passenger airbags, knee airbags, antilock brakes, child seat latches, electronic stability control, and traction control. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and parking-assist features are available only as an option in Limited and GT trims.
- Infotainment: The Dart offers a 7-inch multifunction display in higher trims and an optional 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen in pricier Aero, GT, and Limited models. The SE has 4 speakers, while most trims get a 6-speaker Uconnect AM/FM/CD system.
- Fuel efficiency: The 1.4-liter turbo can achieve more than 40 mpg on the highway, the 2.0-liter manages well into the 30-mpg range on the highway, and the 2.4-liter returns mid-30s highway mileage and low-20s city mileage.
Which 2015 Dodge Dart trim should I buy?
The 2015 Dodge Dart is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SXT, Aero, GT, and Limited.
Here's the short version:
- SE: This is the least expensive way into the Dart, but it is also the most basic. You get the 2.0-liter engine, manual transmission, and simpler equipment, so it makes sense if your priority is low entry cost over features.
- SXT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the 2.4-liter engine, Bluetooth, steering-wheel controls, and cruise control. It also serves as the foundation for the Blacktop appearance package mentioned for this model year.
- Aero: Choose this if fuel economy matters most. It is the only trim with the 1.4-liter turbo 4-cylinder and can be paired with a dual-clutch automatic, but it is more specialized than the SXT.
- GT: This is the performance-oriented trim, with tuned suspension, revised engine calibration, black exterior treatment, 18-inch wheels, and Nappa leather. It suits you if you want the most athletic feel in the lineup.
- Limited: This is the comfort-and-tech choice, with the 8-inch touchscreen, power seats, 17-inch wheels, and the 7-inch multifunction display. It is the right pick if you want the most upscale Dart experience.
Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and parking-assist features are available only on Limited and GT trims.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Dodge Dart?
This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can find value if you compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 330 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.41% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 52.4% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $6,641, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Dodge Dart's resale value?
The current average of $6,777 sits slightly below last year's $6,874.
That softer pricing suggests the Dart is still a value-oriented buy, which can help you on the front end but may limit upside when you sell later. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of that depreciation. The key for future resale is staying ahead of maintenance and avoiding examples with accident history or unresolved mechanical issues.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Dodge Dart safe?
The 2015 Dodge Dart received five-star ratings from NHTSA and mostly Good ratings from IIHS, though it earned only an Acceptable rating in the small-overlap crash test. It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
The Dart comes standard with driver and passenger airbags, knee airbags, antilock brakes, child seat latches, electronic stability control, and traction control. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and parking-assist features are available as an option on Limited and GT trims.
That small-overlap result is the main caveat to keep in mind, especially if you are comparing it with rivals that posted stronger crash-test results.
Should I buy a 2015 Dodge Dart or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 52.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.41% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2015 adds a Blacktop appearance package to SXT trims and keeps the Dart’s roomy, versatile character.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $6,601, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $6,777 average.
- It emphasizes safety, quality materials, and a standout Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $7,219, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $6,777 average.
- It offers a bigger-feeling compact with competitive mileage from an ultra-frugal optional engine.
The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, features, and owner satisfaction, the 2015 is the sensible default. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2014 can save you money, while the 2016 makes sense if you want the later-year version and are willing to pay more.
