With 122 currently listed for sale near Philadelphia, PA and an average price of $9,498, 23.0% of 2015 Chevrolet Equinoxes for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox 4.71 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Chevrolet Equinox stands out as a popular family crossover that takes a tried-and-true approach to everyday use. It is described as capable, if aging, and its quiet exterior and wide range of configurations make it adaptable to many different needs. That versatility and straightforward simplicity are central to its appeal.
At the same time, the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox is not the most feature-rich or fuel-efficient choice in its class. Its cargo area is smaller, though still usable, which means it gives up some practicality compared with rivals even as it remains a sensible option for buyers who value an uncomplicated crossover. Owners also tend to praise its style, smooth handling, and backup camera, while some note concerns with tires and the rear camera.

This vehicle 100: saved my life when I hydroplaned, jumped a ditch, then driveway (diagonally) and slammed into an Oak Tree. The winds were about 45mph that night and there was torrential rain.

Great value and great car. The one I looked at just had minor issues like sun damaged screen and such. If youre willing to fork out that much cash, just go a little farther for something newer.

The Equinox that I purchased was very dependable, economical, and responsive. A very practical car. I had it for ten years before if was totalled in an accident. Although it was not invincible I was rather pleased that no one was seriously hurt which I believe had much to do with the airbag system in the car.

| Current Average Price | $8,344 |
| Year-Round Low | $8,177 |
| Year-Round High | $8,784 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $8,785 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −5.02% |
Prices have softened 5.02% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,825 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price, mileage, and condition.
Is the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.71/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Form and function and Safety.
Owners consistently praise its style, smooth handling, and family-friendly usefulness, and many describe it as dependable and economical for everyday needs. The overview also points to its quiet exterior and wide range of configurations, which helps explain why it works well as a straightforward family crossover.
At the same time, you should expect a practical rather than especially feature-rich or fuel-efficient SUV, with smaller cargo space than some rivals. Even so, 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you still have room to find value if you shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?
Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner summary describes the Equinox as dependable and economical for family needs, and the expert notes also point to a solid, tried-and-true approach to daily use. The tech evaluation adds that Chevrolet’s MyLink system is reliable, even if it can be slow at times, which reinforces the sense that the vehicle is built for uncomplicated ownership.
The cost-effectiveness notes also mention strong mechanical reliability from J.D. Power, which supports the idea that this model can be a sensible long-term choice if it has been maintained well. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the concept of the vehicle and more about finding one with clean maintenance history and no hidden wear from age and mileage.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Chevrolet Equinox?
At 61.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has any accident history or incomplete service records. Pay close attention to body condition, tire wear, camera operation, and how the crossover drives in everyday use, since owners have mentioned concerns with tires and the rear camera.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base L includes the 2.4-liter engine, 6-speed automatic, Bluetooth phone, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and 60/40-split folding rear seats. The LS adds satellite radio and body-colored exterior panels. The 1LT adds a 7-inch touchscreen MyLink radio, backup camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and available 18-inch wheels. The 2LT adds heated front seats, a premium stereo, automatic climate control, and optional leather and navigation. The LTZ adds rear park assist, forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, halogen headlamps, a power rear liftgate, and optional 19-inch wheels, leather seats, and rear-seat entertainment.
- Powertrain: You can choose a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder with 182 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque or an optional 3.6-liter V6 with 301 hp and 272 lb-ft. The 4-cylinder is the efficiency play, while the V6 is the better fit if you expect towing or frequent highway driving.
- Safety package: Higher 2LT and LTZ trims add frontal-collision alert, lane-departure warnings, and parking sensors. Every trim except the base L comes with a rear-facing parking camera.
- Infotainment: The 1LT brings a 7-inch touchscreen MyLink radio, and the system supports Bluetooth streaming plus Pandora and Stitcher. The tech setup is straightforward rather than flashy, and GM’s available OnStar system can supplement the interface.
- Fuel efficiency: The 2.4-liter is rated at 22 mpg city and 32 highway in front-wheel-drive form, with a 10 percent reduction for all-wheel drive. The 3.6-liter V6 is rated at 17/24, with another 10 percent reduction for all-wheel drive.
Which 2015 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?
The 2015 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 5 trim levels: L, LS, 1LT, 2LT, LTZ.
Here's the short version:
- L: This is the simplest way into the Equinox, with the 2.4-liter engine, 6-speed automatic, Bluetooth phone, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, and split-folding rear seats. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost entry point and can live without the extra convenience and safety features found higher up.
- LS: This trim adds satellite radio and body-colored exterior panels, so it is a modest step up if you want a little more polish without moving far up the price ladder.
- 1LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 7-inch touchscreen MyLink radio, backup camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and available 18-inch wheels. If you want the most useful everyday upgrades without stretching too far, this is the trim to focus on.
- 2LT: This trim adds heated front seats, a premium stereo, automatic climate control, and optional leather and navigation. It suits you if comfort matters more and you want a more upscale daily driver.
- LTZ: This is the most feature-rich version, with rear park assist, forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, halogen headlamps, and a power rear liftgate. It is the right pick if you want the most equipment and are willing to pay for it.
Higher 2LT and LTZ trims also bring the added safety features, while the base L misses the rear-facing parking camera.

If you find a listing below $8,177, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?
The current average of $8,344 sits slightly below last year's $8,785.
That price movement suggests the Equinox has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. Because the market has softened, your resale outcome will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and whether the vehicle has a clean history.
If you keep the SUV well maintained and avoid accident history, you should be in a better position to hold value than a neglected example. Strong demand for practical family crossovers can help support resale, but buyers will still compare your listing closely against cleaner, better-equipped alternatives.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox safe?
The Chevrolet Equinox received a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, including five-star ratings for side impact crashes and four-star ratings for front and rollover crashes. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave it a Good rating in all categories.
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
The Equinox comes standard with 4-wheel antilock brakes, tire pressure monitoring, daytime running lamps, driver and passenger airbags with side-impact bags, and head curtains up front. Higher 2LT and LTZ trims add frontal-collision alert, lane-departure warnings, and parking sensors, while every trim except the base L includes a rear-facing parking camera.
That means the Equinox has a strong safety foundation, but you should pay attention to trim level if you want the extra driver-assistance features. If you are comparing used examples, the higher trims are the ones that deliver the most meaningful safety upgrades.
Should I buy a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 61.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.02% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The year stands out for its tried-and-true family-crossover approach, quiet exterior, and wide range of configurations.
The bottom line: The 2015 Equinox makes the most sense if you want a straightforward used crossover with broad availability, a lower average price, and strong owner satisfaction. If you are especially price-sensitive, this year is worth a close look because the market has softened and there are plenty of listings to compare. If you want a newer-feeling alternative with more modern updates, you may want to cross-shop nearby model years as well.
