How much does the 2015 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 6.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,348 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of cars to compare.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2015 BMW 3 Series earns a 4.73/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the solid build quality, impressive handling, luxurious interior, and smooth driving experience. The overview also points to a sedan that still leans into sharp driving dynamics and a powerful engine, which fits you well if you want something more engaging than merely comfortable. Even so, the same feedback notes tradeoffs in fuel economy, backseat space, and price for its age.

Good and great deals account for 32.6% of listings, so you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to solid build quality and a car that many drivers feel good about owning over time, with several owners highlighting a dependable-feeling driving experience. The expert test-drive notes also emphasize the car’s strong chassis and well-sorted road manners, which supports the sense that it’s built to be counted on. The cost-effectiveness notes suggest value retention is not a strong suit, so long-term ownership risk is more about depreciation and age-related wear than basic appeal.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 BMW 3 Series?

At 54.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has higher mileage or a long option list. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, interior wear, and any evidence of deferred maintenance. Because owner feedback mentions oil leaks after high mileage, it’s smart to pay close attention to underhood condition and service records.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 3 Series lineup spans sedan, wagon, and Gran Turismo body styles, with available equipment ranging from basic to leather, M-badged interior touches, navigation, heated front seats, and parking assistance. Base versions can feel sparse compared with better-equipped cars, so make sure the features you want are actually present.
• Powertrain: You’ll find 2.0-liter turbo, 3.0-liter turbo, and 2.0-liter turbodiesel engines, plus rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The 320 can feel underpowered in some situations, while the 328 is described as a better balance for many buyers.
• Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes antilock brakes, front and rear head protection systems, standard and supplemental airbags, and emergency notification systems. Driver-assist packages can add blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, lane-departure warnings, and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: The infotainment system uses ConnectedDrive, and navigation adds a larger screen and heads-up display. Bluetooth audio streaming, satellite radio, and other features may require separate packages, so check the exact equipment list carefully.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA figures range from 24 mpg city/36 highway/28 combined for the most efficient gas setup to 20/28/23 for the thirstiest 6-cylinder manual, while the diesel returns 32/45/37. All-wheel drive reduces mileage by roughly 5 percent.

Which 2015 BMW 3 Series trim should I buy?

The 2015 BMW 3 Series is offered in 3 trim levels: 320, 328, 335.

Here's the short version:

• 320: This is the entry point, but the 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder can feel underpowered in some situations. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the 3 Series and can live with modest performance.
• 328: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers. The 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder gets a meaningful power bump here, and the expert notes say it could be the ideal balance for plenty of buyers.
• 335: This is the performance pick, with the 3.0-liter turbo 6-cylinder delivering the strongest output and the most urgent acceleration. Choose it if you want the most powerful version and are willing to pay more for it.

Safety-package note: driver-assist features such as blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, and Active Driving Assistant are available through packages rather than as standard equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 BMW 3 Series?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,348 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.86% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,502, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $10,502 sits slightly below last year's $11,276.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that this model year is not showing strong price momentum, so condition and mileage will matter even more when it’s time to trade in or list privately. Well-kept examples should still attract interest, but you should expect resale to depend heavily on how cleanly the car presents and how well it has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series safe?

The 2015 BMW 3 Series earns five-star ratings from NHTSA, including five-star ratings in side collision and rollover crash tests, and the IIHS gave it high marks in all crash tests except the small-overlap front test, which was rated marginal.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes antilock brakes, front and rear head protection systems, standard and supplemental airbags for driver and passenger, and emergency notification systems if a crash is detected. Available driver-assistance packages can add blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, lane-departure warnings, and adaptive cruise control. The small-overlap front crash result is the main caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2015 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 keeps the classic 3 Series formula with sharp handling and strong engine choices.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,012, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $10,502 average.
• It emphasizes deft handling, sublime steering, and silky engines in a clean four-door body.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $11,917, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $10,502 average.
• It adds a more sports-car-like personality with strong everyday usability.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and classic 3 Series character, the 2015 is the primary year to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2014 is the smarter value play, while the 2016 makes sense if you want a more performance-forward feel and are willing to pay more.
