How much does the 2015 BMW 3 Series cost?

Prices have softened 7.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,371 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.73/5, and experts give it 7.5/10. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owner feedback repeatedly points to solid build quality, impressive handling, and a luxurious interior. It also highlights the smooth driving experience, which fits the 3 Series’ role as a sport-luxury sedan for you if you want something more engaging than merely comfortable.

The market also shows 33.1% good or great deals, so you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also leans toward solid build quality and a car you can count on for a smooth, satisfying ownership experience. The expert drive notes reinforce that sense of durability by emphasizing the car’s well-built chassis and composed road manners.

BMW’s performance notes also suggest a car that feels mechanically robust, with engines and chassis tuning that reward regular use rather than feeling fragile. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that higher-mileage examples may bring age-related repair costs and maintenance surprises.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 BMW 3 Series?

At 54.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with higher mileage or multiple owners. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s maintenance history matches its premium positioning.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Standard equipment starts with a poised sedan silhouette, while available packages add leather, navigation, heated front seats, parking assistance, and M-badged touches; base cars can feel sparse compared with better-equipped versions.
• Powertrain: You can shop 2.0-liter turbo, 3.0-liter turbo, and 2.0-liter turbodiesel setups, with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive depending on configuration; the 328 is the best balance for many buyers, while the 320 can feel underpowered and the 335 is the strongest performer.
• Safety package: BMW includes standard antilock brakes, front and rear head protection systems, standard and supplemental airbags, and emergency notification systems; driver-assist packages can add blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, lane-departure warnings, and adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: ConnectedDrive is straightforward, and the available navigation upgrade adds a larger screen and heads-up display; Bluetooth audio streaming, satellite radio, and other features may require separate packages.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA figures range from 24 mpg city/36 highway/28 combined for the efficient 2.0-liter turbo with an automatic to 20/28/23 for the thirstiest 6-cylinder manual, while the diesel returns 32/45/37; xDrive reduces mileage by roughly 5%.

Which 2015 BMW 3 Series trim should I buy?

The 2015 BMW 3 Series is offered in 3 trim levels: 320, 328, 335.

Here's the short version:

• 320: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core 3 Series chassis and driving feel at the lowest price, but the 2.0-liter turbo can feel underpowered in some situations. It makes sense if you want the badge and handling first, and you’re willing to accept the least urgent acceleration.
• 328: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it adds a noticeable power bump over the 320 without jumping all the way to the 335’s cost and thirst. If you want the most balanced mix of performance and everyday usability, this is the trim to target.
• 335: This is the enthusiast pick, with the 3.0-liter turbo delivering the strongest acceleration and the most dramatic driving experience. Choose it if you want the quickest 3 Series and are comfortable paying more for that extra punch.

BMW also offers driver-assist packages with blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, and Active Driving Assistant features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 BMW 3 Series?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,371 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,418, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 BMW 3 Series's resale value?

The current average of $10,418 sits slightly below last year's $11,251.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you’re thinking about future value, the softer pricing trend means depreciation has already done some of its work.

Well-kept examples with desirable equipment and strong service records should hold up better than neglected cars, especially because buyers still respond to the 3 Series name and driving reputation. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 BMW 3 Series safe?

The 2015 BMW 3 Series earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, including five-star ratings in side collision and rollover crash tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety also gave it high ratings in all crash tests except the small-overlap front test, which earned a marginal rating.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

BMW includes standard antilock brakes, front and rear head protection systems, standard and supplemental airbags, and emergency notification systems if a crash is detected. Available driver-assist packages can add blind-spot monitoring, rear- and top-view cameras, lane-departure warnings, and adaptive cruise control.

The main caveat is the marginal small-overlap front result, so you should pay close attention to crash history and repair quality on any used example.

Should I buy a 2015 BMW 3 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 keeps the classic 3 Series formula with sharp handling, strong engines, and a more sedan-only focus.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $10,074, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $10,418 average.
• It emphasizes deft handling and silky engines in a clean four-door body.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $11,885, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $10,418 average.
• It adds a more sports-car-like 340i experience with stronger everyday versatility.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price, satisfaction, and classic 3 Series character, the 2015 is the primary year to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2014 is the smarter value play; if you want a more performance-forward step up, the 2016 is worth the extra money.
