Is the 2014 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its reliability, power, and resale value, and many also like its solid handling and safety features. For you, that means this Tacoma fits especially well if you want a truck that can handle work, daily driving, and off-road use without losing its appeal over time. With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, and drivers also describe it as dependable and trouble-free in everyday use. That lines up with the Tacoma’s reputation for long-term value and helps explain why it remains popular with used-truck shoppers.

For you, the main ownership risk is that age and prior use matter more on a truck like this, so condition and maintenance history should carry extra weight.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Tacoma?

At 61.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden damage or wear. Focus on body condition, frame condition, and signs of hard use, since those details matter a lot on a used truck. If a listing looks unusually clean or unusually cheap, verify the story behind it before moving forward.

What is the 2014 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $19,295 sits slightly above last year's $18,933.

That upward move suggests the market still places meaningful value on this Tacoma’s reputation and utility. The combination of steady demand and limited depreciation pressure is a positive sign for future sellers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.91% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $20,394, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $19,295 average.
• It adds a limited-production TRD Pro trim with stronger off-road focus.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2014 is the more appealing starting point because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to pay more for a later-year truck with a sharper off-road identity, the 2015 is the better secondary path.
