How much does the 2014 Toyota Tacoma cost?

There are 1,152 listings available, which suggests you have a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2014 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Toyota Tacoma earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its reliability, power, and resale value, and many also like its solid handling and safety features. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a midsize truck that balances daily drivability with utility and off-road capability. With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, and drivers also describe it as dependable and well suited to long-term ownership. That kind of reputation matters if you want a used truck you can count on over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying a premium for a truck that may still need careful condition checks because age and prior use can add wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Tacoma?

At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with past damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the frame, body, suspension, and interior wear, since those areas can reveal how hard the truck was used. Focus on overall condition first, because a Tacoma’s reputation does not replace a careful pre-purchase check.

What is the 2014 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $19,316 sits slightly above last year's $18,907.

That upward movement suggests the Tacoma continues to hold buyer interest well, which is helpful if you plan to sell later. A truck that stays in demand can be easier to move without heavy discounting, especially when shoppers value durability and utility. The current pricing also signals that well-kept examples may remain relatively resilient in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.16% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $20,256, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $19,316 average.
• It adds a limited-production TRD Pro trim focused on off-road capability.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2014 if you want a strong-value Tacoma with proven owner satisfaction and a lower average price. If you are willing to spend more for a more off-road-focused setup, the 2015 is the better secondary path.
