Why it stands out
The 2014 Toyota Highlander has successfully transformed from a previously bland crossover into a vehicle that combines style and substance. This model year features a brawny exterior that stands out on the road, making it more visually appealing than its predecessors. A significant strength of the Highlander is its spacious and well-designed interior, accommodating up to eight passengers and offering practical storage solutions, making it an excellent family vehicle. Its robust V6 engine—available in higher trims—provides ample power, and the optional all-wheel-drive system enhances its capability for varied driving conditions.
Safety is also a key selling point, with the Highlander receiving high marks in safety evaluations due to its array of advanced safety features and strong structural integrity. However, some users have noted that the fuel economy could be better, and there are areas of the interior where comfort could be improved, particularly with the second-row seating. Overall, the 2014 Highlander remains an impressive choice for buyers seeking a versatile and dependable family vehicle.

Overall the experience of driving the vehicle is fantastic. The higher seating above a sedan car makes this a pleasant ride in any weather enabling the driver to see far ahead when driving in heavy traffic. It has enough air bags to float a tank.

Our Limited AWD is a very solid car that we expect to drive for a long time. Very comfortable seats. The space is easily configured for people or cargo. Love the shelf under the dash!

Overall... excellent vehicle. Front row and 2nd row seats adjust to accommodate most drivers/riders. I did alot of shopping around before I made my purchase and what I found is that the Highlander is really the best value for the money. The interior is very nice... not cheap looking as compared to some other mid-size SUVs which were actually more expensive.

The car feels solid, that’s what I was looking for. The downside is that the seats are uncomfortable and the mirrors don’t fold in.
