How much does the 2014 Toyota Corolla cost?

Prices are up 2.01% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,428 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla a good car?

Generally — the 2014 Toyota Corolla earns a 4.3/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for everyday use. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise its excellent fuel efficiency, reliability, and low maintenance costs. The overview also frames it as a straightforward commuter with long-term usefulness, while owners describe it as a strong value for commuting and long drives.

With 31.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. Drivers repeatedly call out reliability, low maintenance costs, and a dependable ownership experience, and the expert summary reinforces that it is built for reliable daily motoring.

The performance write-up also describes the engine and CVT tuning as working well to extract the most from the fuel-sipping 4-cylinder. On the ownership side, that combination suggests a car that should be easy to live with over time, though used buyers should still verify maintenance history and overall condition before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Toyota Corolla?

At 46.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or inconsistent service records. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior damage, and whether the car still feels tight and well maintained in everyday driving.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L is the simplest version, while the S adds a unique front fascia, rear lip spoiler, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and sport bucket seats.
• Powertrain: The Corolla uses a 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder with 132 hp in most trims, while the LE Eco is tuned for efficiency and makes 140 hp.
• Safety package: Toyota’s Star Safety System includes vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, brake assist, and Smart Stop technology. All trims also get 8 standard airbags.
• Infotainment: All trims include Bluetooth and a USB auxiliary port, and the car is available with Entune plus HD radio capability, including live-radio pause.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4-speed automatic gets 27 mpg city and 36 mpg highway, the 6-speed manual gets 28 mpg city and 37 mpg highway, and CVT-equipped versions get 29 mpg city and 38 mpg highway. The LE Eco gets 30 mpg city and 42 mpg highway with base steel wheels.

Which 2014 Toyota Corolla trim should I buy?

The 2014 Toyota Corolla is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LE, LE Eco, S.

Here's the short version:

• L: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Corolla’s core strengths at the lowest starting price. It’s the trim to consider if you want the most affordable path into the model and don’t need the extra styling or efficiency-focused upgrades.
• LE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a more well-rounded equipment mix without pushing into the more specialized Eco or sport-oriented S territory. It’s the trim to target if you want a balanced daily driver.
• LE Eco: This trim is tuned for efficiency and adds Toyota’s VVT-i setup, low-rolling-resistance tires, and revised throttle mapping, but the content warns that the real-world gains may not justify the extra cost.
• S: This is the sport-appearance choice, with a unique front fascia, rear lip spoiler, leather-wrapped steering wheel, sport bucket seats, and CVT sport/manual modes. It suits you if you want the most distinctive look and a slightly more engaging feel.

Toyota’s Star Safety System is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim for the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Toyota Corolla?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,428 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.01% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 46.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,762, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Toyota Corolla's resale value?

The current average of $11,099 sits slightly above last year's $10,880.

That upward move suggests the Corolla continues to hold buyer interest well in the used market. Its reputation for efficiency, reliability, and low ownership costs helps support demand, especially among shoppers looking for a practical commuter car.

If you buy well and keep the car in good condition, the Corolla’s broad appeal should help it remain easy to resell later. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Toyota Corolla safe?

The Corolla features 8 standard airbags, including front impact airbags, front seat mounted side airbags, and front and rear side curtain airbags. It also earns a Top Safety Pick from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota’s Star Safety System is standard on all trims and includes vehicle stability control, traction control, antilock brakes, brake assist, and Smart Stop technology. That gives you a strong baseline of active safety equipment across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2014 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 46.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.01% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The expert summary emphasizes reliable, fuel-efficient daily motoring with a strong long-term ownership focus.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $11,825, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $11,099 average.
• It adds a bit more style and a broader sense of everyday enjoyment.

The bottom line: The 2014 is the better pick if you want the lower average price and the Corolla’s core strengths without paying extra for a newer model. If you’re willing to spend more for a slightly fresher take, the 2015 is the secondary path to consider.

How does the 2014 Toyota Corolla compare to the 2014 Honda Civic?

Our experts score the 2014 Toyota Corolla 8/10 and the 2014 Honda Civic 8.2/10.

The Corolla is the more value-focused choice, with a lower average used price and a stronger good-and-great deal share. The Civic counters with a bit more power, slightly better city fuel economy, and a higher accident-free share.

If you want the cheaper, more efficiency-first commuter, the Corolla makes sense. If you want a little more performance and can spend slightly more, the Civic has the edge.
