Why it stands out
The 2014 Toyota 4Runner remains one of the few traditional SUVs in a market shifting towards crossovers, offering both versatility and off-road capability. This model stands out for its ruggedness and enduring appeal, with traits appealing to outdoor enthusiasts who require reliable performance on various terrains. The 4Runner boasts a 4.0-liter V6 engine that produces 270 horsepower, coupled with a five-speed automatic transmission. It offers options for either rear-wheel or four-wheel drive, catering to both on-road comfort and off-road adventure.
Expert reviews highlight its unique ability to blend luxury with performance; while it maintains a robust build, the interior prioritizes utility with ample storage and practical features, such as a power rear window. Though the climate control layout may confuse some users, the vehicle's rugged stance and exceptional off-road technology, such as Crawl Control and the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System in higher trims, make it a top pick for adventurers. Additionally, its ability to hold resale value well enhances its purchase appeal.

Great vehicle overall. Very solid drivetrain. I wouldn’t compare it to much. I own a 2006 with 320k and running strong.

I love this car, i've just decided i need something a little smaller for my family. We had plenty of space on our family vacation and got great gas mileage on the highway (24MPG). Only thing i wish it had was a power lift gate.

It’s a comfortable vehicle. I like all the features it comes with. It rides smoothly. I’m so happy with the heated seats. I don’t care for the moonroof but it wasn’t a feature that made me not want to buy this model.
