CarGurus Analysis: 2014 Nissan Juke
overall

Summary
With 349 currently listed for sale and an average price of $7,616.00, 28.9% of 2014 Nissan Jukes for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2014 Nissan Juke 4.29 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.17 / 10.
56.4% of 2014 Juke models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2014 Nissan Juke stands out immediately for its unconventional styling. Its proportions and lines give it a look that is far more expressive than most small crossovers, and that distinctive design has made it a vehicle people tend to notice and react to strongly. For buyers who want something with personality rather than a conventional shape, that visual identity is a major part of the appeal.
Beyond the styling, the Juke is described as offering engaging performance at a budget price. That combination helps explain why it can attract shoppers looking for a fun, affordable vehicle rather than a purely practical one. Owners also commonly praise its responsive handling and compact size, which reinforce its sporty feel and make it easy to live with in tighter spaces.
The tradeoffs are just as clear. The Juke is hampered by poor cargo capacity and disappointing fuel economy, and owners also mention limited cargo space for families and road noise. Those drawbacks mean it is best suited to buyers who value character and driving enjoyment more than maximum utility or efficiency.

Pretty decent car for the value. I have a 2014 Nissan Juke SV with the manual transmission. (Avoid the automatic version of these Nissan at all cost) It actually is decently equipped, it comes with powered windows, powered locks, a sunroof, driver's seat adjustment is electrically powered, comes with Eco and Sport mode as well as traction control and hand free Bluetooth for phone calls. The Push Button Start feature makes it very easy to just get near the car and unlock/lock it and starting it without ever having to reach for your keys. The only things I wish my Juke had was a backup camera. It being a small 1.6 4 cylinder engine means I can easily get an average of 33.3 MPG mostly on city and little highway. It being the size it is means you can very easily park almost easily, and it's short wheelbase ensures you can easily glide through the narrowrests of streets in urban tight cities. Something to keep in mind is that this car is definitely more for the City than it is a highway cruiser, so if you mainly do City driving.. this car is definitely one to keep in mind. :) I do sometimes wish you could get the fully loaded SL that included AWD, Navigation, Leather Seats without being forced to get the CVT variant. While having an Aux Input is nice.. having a Bluetooth Sound System is always better. ;) If you are in the market for a Renault Duster or a Hyundai Tucson.. consider the Juke as a nice alternative. :)

The tradeoff is that it is not built around maximum practicality, so the limited cargo space and road noise matter more if you need family-friendly utility. Even so, 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive options if you shop carefully.
Is the 2014 Nissan Juke reliable?
Owners rate it 4.29/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a vehicle people tend to enjoy living with over time, especially for its fun character, compact size, and responsive handling. The expert drive notes also emphasize that the Juke’s performance is engaging and that the manual transmission is particularly well executed.
The cost-effectiveness notes add that the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about satisfaction and more about whether the specific car has been maintained well enough to avoid compounding age-related issues.
What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Nissan Juke?
At 58.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on any car with incomplete records or visible bodywork differences. Focus on condition first: accident history, tire wear, brake feel, and signs of hard use matter more here than mileage alone.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base S trim keeps things simple, while the SV adds push-button start, satellite radio, and the I-CON system for automatic climate control and drive modes. The SL adds heated seats and automatic head- and foglights, so you can use those equipment differences to decide how much convenience you want.
- Powertrain: The Juke uses a 188-hp, 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 177 lb-ft of torque, and you can choose front- or all-wheel drive depending on configuration. You can also choose a CVT or 6-speed manual, though the manual is paired with front-wheel drive only.
- Safety package: Standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, and active front head restraints. The safety ratings also show a 3-star result for frontal impact protection, so that area deserves extra attention.
- Infotainment: Base trims get Bluetooth, full power, keyless entry, and a 6-speaker stereo with an auxiliary input. Higher trims add the 5.8-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, rear-view camera, and real-time traffic monitoring through the Navigation Package.
- Fuel efficiency: The Juke is rated at 25 mpg city and 31 highway, though real-world results can fall well short of that.
Which 2014 Nissan Juke trim should I buy?
The 2014 Nissan Juke is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, SL.
Here's the short version:
- S: This is the simplest way into the Juke, but it still gives you keyless entry, full power, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker stereo with an auxiliary input. If you want the lowest-cost path into the Juke’s styling and driving character, this is the trim to start with.
- SV: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds push-button start, satellite radio, and the I-CON system for climate and drive-mode control. If you want the Juke’s personality with more everyday convenience, this is the one to target.
- SL: This trim adds heated seats and automatic head- and foglights, making it the more comfort-focused choice. It suits you best if you want a little more cold-weather and night-driving convenience.
Standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, and active front head restraints.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Juke?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, compare, and wait for the right listing.
- Deal availability: 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 359 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.16% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 58.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $7,361.83, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2014 Nissan Juke's resale value?
The current average of $7,619 sits slightly below last year's $8,295.
That price movement suggests the Juke has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help if you buy at the right number and later resell into a market that still values its distinctive styling. The current trend also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out, especially if their car has accident history or average condition.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.29/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2014 Nissan Juke safe?
It earns Good from IIHS and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with three-star ratings for frontal impact protection and five-star ratings for side impact.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, and active front head restraints. The main caveat is the weaker frontal crash result, so you should pay close attention to accident history and structural condition when shopping used.
Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Juke or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2014 if:
- 29.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 58.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 8.16% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.29/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- The 2014 Juke combines distinctive styling with engaging performance at a budget price.
Consider the 2015 if:
- At $8,873, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $7,619 average.
- It emphasizes the same bold styling while highlighting more explicit tradeoffs in safety and practicality.
The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2014 is the stronger starting point because it costs less and still delivers the Juke’s core personality. If you’re price-sensitive, focus on the 2014 and shop condition carefully; if you’re comparing across years, the 2015 only makes sense if its specific listing and equipment justify the higher price.
