Is the 2014 Nissan Juke a good car?

The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Juke brings a sense of moxie to driving, with responsive handling and engaging performance that can make it feel rewarding over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about mechanical drama and more about living with the Juke’s compromises, especially cargo space, road noise, and fuel economy.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Nissan Juke?

At 62.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and any signs of prior repair. Because this model’s appeal is tied to its styling and driving feel, condition matters a lot: you want to make sure the car still feels tight, clean, and well cared for.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S trim keeps things simple with keyless entry, full power, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker stereo, while the SV adds push-button start, satellite radio, and the I-CON system for climate and drive-mode control. The SL adds heated seats and automatic head- and foglights, and the Navigation Package adds a 5.8-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, a rear-view camera, and real-time traffic monitoring.
• Powertrain: The Juke starts with a 188-hp, 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, with a CVT or 6-speed manual depending on configuration. The all-wheel-drive setup uses an independent rear suspension, and the performance tuning is a major part of the Juke’s appeal.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes 6 airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, and active front head restraints. The safety ratings also point to a weaker frontal-impact result than the rest of the crash performance.
• Infotainment: The Navigation Package adds a 5.8-inch touchscreen, voice recognition, rear-view camera, and real-time traffic monitoring. The upgraded audio system includes USB connectivity.
• Fuel efficiency: The Juke is rated at 25 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, and the expert evaluation notes that real-world fuel economy can be disappointing.

Which 2014 Nissan Juke trim should I buy?

The 2014 Nissan Juke is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, and NISMO RS.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the simplest way into the Juke, and it gives you the core personality of the model without much extra equipment. Choose it if you want the lowest-cost path into the styling and driving character.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds push-button start, satellite radio, and the I-CON system for climate and drive-mode control without jumping into the more specialized upper trims.
• SL: This trim is the better pick if you want more comfort and convenience, thanks to heated seats and automatic head- and foglights.
• NISMO RS: This is the enthusiast choice, with the most aggressive performance-focused setup and the most specialized hardware in the lineup.

The safety content notes that standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, and active front head restraints.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Nissan Juke?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 365 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $7,360, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Nissan Juke's resale value?

The current average of $7,676 sits slightly below last year's $8,046.

That softer pricing suggests the Juke is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly, which can make it easier for you to get in at a reasonable cost. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained.

Because the Juke has a distinct personality and a loyal audience, a clean example can still attract attention. But if you’re planning to sell later, you’ll want to preserve the car carefully so it stands out in a market where prices have already eased.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2014 Nissan Juke safe?

The 2014 Nissan Juke earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with three-star ratings for total frontal impact protection and five-star ratings for side impact. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave it its highest rating of Good.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes 6 airbags, antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, and active front head restraints. The main caveat is the weaker frontal-impact result, which is worth weighing carefully if safety is a top priority for you.

Should I buy a 2014 Nissan Juke or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 28.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2014 stands out for its unusual styling, fun driving experience, and compact size.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $8,756, the 2015 costs more than the current year's $7,676 average.
• It adds a stronger warning on safety and a more explicit emphasis on space limitations.

The bottom line: If you want the lower-priced, more readily available option, the 2014 is the better starting point. If you’re comparing across years, the 2014 makes the most sense for value-focused shoppers who like the Juke’s personality and can live with its compromises.

How does the 2014 Nissan Juke compare to the 2015 Jeep Renegade?

Our experts score the 2014 Nissan Juke 7.2/10 and the 2015 Jeep Renegade 7.2/10.

The Juke is the more affordable used buy here, with a lower average price and a stronger deal share. The Renegade brings more listings and a slightly better accident-free share, but you’ll pay more for it on average. If you want the cheaper path into a distinctive small crossover, the Juke has the edge; if you want more inventory to choose from, the Renegade gives you that.
