Is the 2014 Lexus GX a good car?

Yes — the 2014 Lexus GX earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its outstanding performance, stability, and luxury features, and many also highlight the value of its V8 engine and all-wheel drive capability. For you, that makes it a compelling fit if you want a luxury SUV with rugged capability and a more traditional SUV character. With 33.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also a meaningful amount of market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2014 Lexus GX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free enough to inspire confidence over time, especially if you value durability and a long-term ownership mindset. That said, used buyers should still expect normal age-related wear and verify maintenance history carefully before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2014 Lexus GX?

At 52.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on the body, suspension, and interior condition, since this model’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained. If you want the best ownership experience, focus on examples with clear records and consistent upkeep rather than simply chasing the lowest price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2014 Lexus GX?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 307 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.77% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,672, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2014 Lexus GX's resale value?

The current average of $20,972 sits slightly below last year's $21,350.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your exit value. The GX’s strong owner satisfaction should also help support demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2014 Lexus GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2014 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2014 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2014 GX makes the most sense if you want this generation’s updated styling and a strong mix of luxury and off-road capability, especially if you can find a clean, well-kept example at a competitive price. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can also use nearby model years as comparison points and focus on the best-maintained vehicle rather than the newest badge.
