Great car, not missing anything, I’d compare it to a c6 convertible

I've owned 8 Corvettes over the past 6 decades, and loved every one of them. The historical relevence of this brand to the American roadways is legendary, and as a personal vehicle, it surpasses any other vehicle in its class. In a word..."Superb"!

This car is amazing... I would have kept it, but as a summer car, it would have been nice if they roof could have been removed - they say they do it for structural purposes, but I don't know about that since the current base Corvette has the hoursepower of the last Z06 and they always use the structural excuse... but once you get past that, this car is world class... It accelerates with numbers that are in the Ferrari class... handles better than a lot of the European sports cars... And for pricing, if you wanted to get this type of performance from a Porsche, you'd have to be spending well over 100k - I got this a year old with only 6k miles on it and it was half of that! AND what I find to be simply amazing is the gas mileage... I took a road trip in this car from Boston, MA to Newport, RI and once on the highway, I put it in 6th and set cruise control at 80 and I was getting about 27 MPG... no other car in this class can do that... so I ask you - what's not to love????

I wanted to love this car. I really did. But any of the raw, race car feel that was present with the C5 Z06 was erased in this car. I equate this to a very fast Cadillac. The steering is abysmal for a car of its capabilities. Because of its numbness, you are never able to gauge what the car is doing and where its limits are. It is, however, a fantastic daily driver. I just could not love it.

For the cost the performance is second to none. It's a good mix between a straightaway and a curving track car. What it lacks in .97G skippad cornering, it more than makes up for in the straights. It's been functionally perfect with no squeeks or creeks The cost of ownership is a little high. $2400 in tires every 15K miles. $2000 in brakes every 20K miles. More if you track it. But it does get 27 MPG. :-D

Not to sound overly cheesy, but rarely does a car come along that inspires me to quote John Keats. Well, here's the car - the 2007 Chevrolet Corvette - and here's the quote: "A thing of beauty is a joy forever; its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness."

Available as a coupe, convertible, or super-sleek Z06, the 2007 Chevy Corvette is nothing short of stunning. I'm not an "orange" person, but even the Atomic Orange and Dayton Sunset Orange Metallic colors are gorgeous. Beauty comes from within as well; cashmere seats are available, and a Bose stereo is standard.

Of course, it's great to review a car before it hits the road and problems begin to arise. However, with all the thought that is going into Chevy's flagship car, from its new available spoiler to its cross-drilled brake rotors to a quicker release on the convertible tops, I do not think buyers need be overly concerned.

To the Ford folk: This is a car that just might make you say, "Shelby who?" (Sorry, had to shout that from atop my soapbox while I have it ;))

Powering the 2007 Corvette base (if there is such a thing as a base Corvette) Coupe is a sweet 6.0-liter, 400-hp V8 with a 0-60 time of 4.3 seconds. And as if that's not enough, you can opt for the hand-assembled ZO6 with a 7.0-liter, 505-hp V8 with a 0-60 time of 3.4 seconds (that's about the amount of time it take you to start your car). Each LS7 (LS7 is the engine's designation) is hand assembled by one of the master assemblers at the plant, who takes personal ownership of the motor from start to finish and, in a nice touch, places his or her name tag on the finished product. The LS7 is basically a race-quality motor for the street, and it is assembled in a very meticulous fashion. Just think of with modifications.
