performance- it has more power than you would think. build quality- never needs repairs. appearance- looks are modern both inside and out. cost of ownership- gas mileage is awesome and maintenance is low. fun factor- this car for me is very fun to drive.

I bought this car because I needed a small standard shift car that was affordable to buy and cheap to run and something I wouldn't mind spending lots of time in. So far it has been all that and more. The car is all set up for our Canadian winters with traction control, abs, heated mirrors and seats (awesome feature). The sound system is great, the steering controls for both radio and cruise is awesome. The seat raising up and going down as well as back and forth combined with the tilt/telescoping steering wheel makes it feel like a much bigger car even for guys my size and bigger (6ft, 240lbs). I would recommend this car to anyone.

This was an economically driven step down from 09 full size GMC Sierra, so I had low expectations. What a surprise. Since 1964 I've primarily driven pickups and station wagons (non-SUVs) for personal transportation. I compared this Focus to several other small wagons and this beats out Passat, Jetta, Matrix, Subaru, Volvo and most small suvs for overall price vs utility. This moved to the top of my list of legacy small wagons. Passat is my favorite but loses on price and cost of ownership. This Focus has been trouble free for two years (Purchased w/76k, now 87k). I do treat my vehicles to the best tires, brakes, battery, lube and coolant without being asked.
