Without a doubt this is the best ride I ever owned. Handles great for a car this big, best technology available at the time it was introduced, and ha the right level of luxury / comfort without feeling over done. Not to mention 21-22mpg ave. with a V8 that blows the doors off most others.

It is paid for and many of the technical advancements found on later model cars were standard equipment on this car ten years ago. It has lasting appeal and a style that says BMW as it exudes refinement. The V-12 is no slouch, not a drag strip King, but it loves the open road.

I was like a movie star, when pulling up at restaurants. If I told you how many women I got as of a result of driving this car you wouldn't believe me. The car was strong and powerful and it would take off like a rocket. I had plenty of room; and if you slide the front seats all the way upward, the backseat was like a hotel. The ugly side of ownership was the repair expenses; they were the most I've ever seen with a car. I've owned many Mercedes, Lexus, Hummers; but what I went through with this car was excessive. The problem wasn't necessarily the cost of the parts, it was the labor and the design that only allows the dealer to fix them. So when I had an issue I would try at all cost not to go to the dealer, but many of the independent BMW repair shops couldn't locate the problem, or didn't want to spend 3 days trying to. When I took it to the dealer they would say that it may be 5 issues causing my problem, and they have to replace all 5 items to determine the real issue. The crazy thing is that after all of that effort of replacing 5 expensive parts, the problem may still go unfixed. After being stranded numerous times, enduring the embarrassment of being dressed in my best suit, with the hood up on the side of the road, I decided to sell it. I was tired of dealing with the consent issues, and the issue of no one knowing how to or wanting to fix them. A funny realization, is that between gas, insurance and repair cost, in the the 20 months I owned this car it cost me $25,0000. It would have been a lot more if I wasn't as resourceful as I am. A few days ago I was marveling at the fact that I have so much money left over at the end of the month now. This car being gone is the reason why. Another interesting side note. I was going to get rid of my 2002 and get a newer year, but after talking to my friends and others I knew who had newer models, we had the same problems. I loved the attention, I love the ride and power; I hated the cost that came along with it.
