Used 2000 GMC Safari for Sale near Chicago, IL

CONVERSION VAN. Excellent for family travel. In spite of what many others say, we never had any major repairs in last 9 years. The only repair was the actuator(?) on driver door stopped working and couldn't up/down the powered window glass. Had to be replaced for $72.

It's a van, has a 4.3 L V6, pulls the boat and camper just fine. I might get it when I go off to college/NAVY. Can remove the two bench seats for cargo. Got it in 04, w/ 40k and we put 50k on it, hard miles mostly.

Ok its an alright right van but it is ugly.... Its great capacity! One thing is though it doesnt like rain so be ready for jolting and crappy starting. Also it is very good at hauling so thats a humbs up lol.

We bought a 2000 GMC Safari conversion van brand new from Hall Pontiac-GMC in Virginia Beach. It was blue with gold pinstriping and a tan cloth interior. For the most part, it was reliable, the engine and other mechanical parts were dependable, but almost from the start, we had problems with the air-conditioning. In 2002, the A/C quit during a rare heat wave in Washington state when we were livng there. There were also numerous electrical gremlins and problems with the brakes. The TV in the back stopped working in 2003, on a seven hour drive! The van itself was a great vehicle. Very reliable and solid, but the conversion company, Glaval, did a lousy job. No surprise they are now out of business.
