My '81 Chevette (not shown here, mine was "Champagne") was a filler car, but for the $150 I paid for it in 2000, it was well worth it.

Bought this new in 1981 & the interest rate on my loan was 18%! Four-door because I was a single mother. Drove it back & forth to DC almost every weekday for 2 years. Great gas mileage (about 28 mpg). It was a stick shift which I didn't know how to drive until about a half hour after I bought it. The song that was playing on the radio when I drove it home was "Life's Been Good to Me So Far" by Joe Walsh (whom I later saw do that song live).

this was my first car. it is a 2dr four speed. yes iknow a lot of people think its a piece of crap, but for some reason unknown to me i fell in love with it. its entirely slow and not fun to drive by most standards. but there's no car i've had more memories in.
