Most of the changes for the 1973 Dodge Charger are cosmetic this year, as the engine offerings remained the same. Base models featured a 225 slant six (rated at 105-hp) or a 318, 150-hp. SE trims featured a 318, 400, and 440 with the 400 available in 2 or 4 barrel carbs while the Rallye trim offered a 340 magnum as well as the previous assortment of powerplants. All 1973 Charger models featured an enlarged rear quarter-window, but the SE trim had a specially designed rear triple "opera" window enveloped in a canopy style vinyl roof, giving the appearance of gills. Also new this year in Rallye models were optional reflective side stripes. Taillights became vertical slats and the hidden headlight option was discontinued.
A suspension redesign in the 1973 Dodge Charger resulted in an apparently quieter and smoother ride. Owners of this car, who admittedly buy it either to retune the engines for speed or just for its awesome look, are also pleased with its dependability and durability on the road.

(22 reviews)Its a 1973 dodge charger r/t 400 magnum.bored 40 over 440 cam 750 carb,15 inch rally wheels it has all of its orignal interior hemi orange paint with black, new front and rear spoilers , turn signals and hood pins.
This isnt my fastest car but the 440 makes a wonderful sound! I built this car to be a nice cruiser so it has a highway friendly rear diff-The build quality is improving with every restoration I do-the paint and bodywork are nearly flawless as are the interior and pretty much everything else on the car. This particular Charger is the smoothest riding muscle car Ive ever had-even more so than the other Chargers Ive owned.
Performance wise this car is heavy and large-Despite this it 0-60's in 6 flat thanks mostly to the built 340 that will get replaced with a 440 next summer Disc brakes stop the car very well-ride is smooth and comfortable-Ive had to rebuild nearly everything on the car over the last ten years but I shouldnt have to do much mechanically unless I want to for another 10 years:0)
I like the 73 charger, It has legroom up the wazoo! I'm 6'4" and that means a lot to me. The 440 pads the package.Currently has a 12.5:1 906 heads,509 292 108' 727 with 411 gears. can't pick a paint for it though and that part is getting closer
They dont build em like they used to this was a great car had a 318 wasnt the best on gas but a great car overall the most fun car I have ever driven especially the looks you get when your rollin through town
