2023 Ford F-150 Towing Capacity

by George Kennedy

The Ford F-150 is a workhorse with many faces and personalities. It is offered in multiple bed and cab configurations, in a wide variety of trims, and with one of several powertrain options. This makes the F-150 a truck that offers something for everyone, whether it’s the work truck XL or the luxury-level Limited. The F-150’s interior has a solid build quality and it comes standard with intuitive technology. Some of that technology can also help with towing and keeping everyone safe. The F-150 is available with a naturally aspirated (non-turbo) V6 engine, multiple twin-turbo V6 engines, a naturally aspirated V8 engine, and a supercharged V8 engine.

When properly equipped, the F-150 can tow up to 14,000 pounds, which leads the full-size, light-duty truck segment for the 2023 model year. For reference, the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 can tow up to 13,300 pounds and the GMC Sierra 1500 can tow up to 13,200 pounds, which are the next closest competitors in the segment. It should be noted that not every version of the F-150 achieves this class-leading capacity, and so in the following article, we break down which towing capacity by configuration selected. If you are in the market for a ’23 F-150 hopefully you’ll know the towing limits of your desired truck by the end of this article.
