What’s New for the 2027 Infiniti QX65
The 2027 Infiniti QX65 is a new model. Sort of. It's based on the existing QX60, which is a three-row midsize luxury SUV. The QX65 eliminates the third row and adopts a tapered rear roofline for a coupe-like silhouette. While it's more of an adaptation of an existing vehicle than an all-new SUV, the QX65 is a welcome addition to Infiniti's notably sparse lineup.

Design
Styling-wise, the 2027 Infiniti QX65 is a variation of the QX60's theme, which in turn is an adaptation of the larger QX80, which was redesigned in 2025. The front is dominated by an oversized grille with converging strakes that draw attention to the central illuminated Infiniti logo. It's flanked by a strip of segmented accent lights up top, with the actual headlights in a darkened cutout just below.
From the side, the QX65's tapered roofline gives it a sleeker and sportier profile, accentuated with a gracefully arcing chrome trim element that traces the window frames. While we normally don't comment on paint colors, the Sunfire Red option is a noteworthy addition. It incorporates gold-coated glass flecks for a brilliant shimmer that's unique among production vehicles. Up close, it has a similar visual impact as some custom metallic flake low riders, though in a much more refined setting.
Around the back, the tail tapers to a sharp point where the segmented light bar reminds us of the faceted hatch of a Lamborghini Urus. With the two-tone black roof and gloss-black lower body sections, the QX65 further sheds some of its visual weight for a more athletic appearance.
Powertrain
All 2027 Infiniti QX65 models are powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 268 horsepower and 286 pound-feet of torque. It's paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and standard all-wheel drive (AWD). It's the same powertrain found in the QX60, and while power is adequate, performance is far from impressive. Infiniti says it has tweaked the transmission and the throttle to sharpen responses, though the QX65 will likely be somewhat anemic compared to its V6-powered rivals. Properly equipped, the QX65 can tow up to 6,000 pounds.
Since the QX65 weighs about the same as the boxier QX60, we expect it to return similar fuel economy figures. The EPA estimates the AWD QX60 will return 22 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 24 mpg combined. If these estimates hold true for the QX65, it will have the advantage over other coupe-like SUVs by a few mpg.

Interior
The QX65's cockpit is nearly identical to the QX60's, with plenty of luxury materials and graceful styling to distinguish it from the supporting Nissan Pathfinder. There are more leather (or leather-like) surfaces covering the underlying plastic, and metallic accents in the center console and doors give the cabin a more upmarket feel. The Luxe and Sport trims get synthetic leather seat upholstery, while the top Autograph trim upgrades to genuine leather with a unique quilted pattern. They're particularly eye-catching in red.
Typically, when a three-row SUV is converted to two rows, legroom increases for the rear passengers, but in the QX65's case, it's shorter by about 2 inches for both the rear- and front-seat occupants. The good news is that there's still an abundance of space to stretch out, and the rear seats slide and recline. The sense of spaciousness is enhanced by a standard panoramic sunroof, though taller passengers could run out of headroom if they're sitting upright.
Behind the rear seats, the QX65 can hold up to 35.8 cubic feet of cargo, and with the seatbacks folded flat, that volume expands to 67.7 cubic feet. These figures are about five cubic feet less than the QX60's, but still generous among coupe-like SUVs. There's also ample storage for personal items, with sizable cupholders, door pockets, a center armrest bin, and a large tray under the center console.
Technology
All QX65s come with a standard 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and infotainment touchscreen. Also included are wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, remote control and monitoring via a smartphone app, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The QX65 leads the way in regard to wireless phone charging with its Qi2 upgrade that features a magnetic holder, fast charging, and a cooling fan.
The infotainment system runs on Google built-in software, which incorporates the user's Google data as well as voice controls. Stepping up to the Sport trim upgrades the audio system to a 16-speaker Klipsch system, while the Autograph gets a 20-speaker Klipsch setup with front headrest speakers. These allow the driver to isolate navigation prompts and phone conversations to their speakers only, while the passengers can continue enjoying their music or podcasts.
Safety
Standard safety features for all QX65 models include forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitors with rear cross-traffic alert and steering intervention, rear parking proximity sensors, rear automatic braking, a driver-attention monitor, and ProPilot Assist (combines adaptive cruise control and lane centering to reduce the burden of highway driving).
The Sport trim adds a surround-view camera system with an "invisible hood" view and front parking sensors, while the Autograph adds a digital rear-view mirror and a head-up display. That top trim is also eligible for the optional ProPilot Assist 2.1 hands-free automated highway driving system.
Crash-test results were not available for the QX65 at the time of writing, but the related QX60 has received top scores from both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). With this in mind, we expect similarly strong scores for the QX65.

Pricing and Release Date
The entry-level Luxe trim will have a starting price around $57,000 when the 2027 Infiniti QX65 goes on sale this summer. In addition to the aforementioned safety and tech features, the Sport trim will also add cooled seats and ambient interior lighting, while the Autograph trim is further enhanced with 21-inch wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, massaging seats, and heated rear seats.
