What’s New for the 2026 Dodge Durango
The big news for 2026 is the arrival of the R/T 392 Launch Edition, making the 6.4-liter, 392-cubic-inch HEMI V8 standard on the Durango R/T for the first time. The result is 475 horsepower, the most available in a three-row SUV according to Dodge, and a claimed zero-to–60-mph time of 4.4 seconds.
The automaker also introduced a new R/T Blacktop Redline package for 2026, which includes 20-inch black wheels and other unique styling elements. The standard R/T gained new wheel options, and the Tow 'N' Go package is now available as a standalone option.
Design
The Durango's look hasn't radically changed since this generation's debut in 2011. The 2026 model features the same curvy shape with an upright grille and clean lines. Dodge offers a range of wheel options for the Durango, and the SUV is available with appearance packages that add black exterior accents and other changes. The new R/T 392 Launch Edition gets its own more muscular visual identity, with body-color fender flares, red "392" badging, a rear spoiler, and a dedicated 20-by-10-inch Satin Carbon wheel design.
Powertrain
Dodge offers a handful of powerful engine options for the 2026 Durango. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6, making 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. A 5.7-liter HEMI V8 is available, producing 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. New for 2026, the R/T 392 Launch Edition steps things up considerably with the 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V8: Rated at 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, it represents a 32% increase over the 2025 Durango R/T. The range-topping engine remains the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8, with 710 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque. All 2026 Durango engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The base V6 and smaller HEMI are available with either front- or all-wheel drive (FWD or AWD), but the Hellcat and R/T 392 Launch Edition are AWD-only. The Launch Edition also features an adaptive damping suspension, six-piston Brembo front brakes, an electronic limited-slip rear axle, and tow rating of 8,700 pounds.

Interior
The Durango seats up to seven people on standard cloth upholstery. Genuine and Nappa leather upholstery options are available, along with heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, and a power sunroof. Cargo space is only decent, at 17.2 cubic feet with the third-row seats upright. The space measures 43.3 cubic feet with the third row folded flat, and up to 86.1 cubic feet with the second and third rows down. The new R/T 392 Launch Edition comes with Nappa leather and suede seating surfaces featuring SRT performance bolsters. The available heated and ventilated front seats and heated second-row captain's chairs are standard for the R/T 392, which also features a suede headliner and leather and carbon fiber interior trim.
Technology
Dodge equips a 10.1-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch digital gauge cluster as standard, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, HD radio, and more. Higher trims add wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the Durango is available with a few upgraded stereos, including a 19-speaker sound system available in top trims. The R/T 392 Launch Edition Premium features an 18-speaker Harman Kardon audio system by default.
Safety
The 2026 Durango hasn’t been crash-tested yet, and its predecessor earned mixed scores in testing by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has not rated the 2025 or 2026 Durango yet. It comes standard with a few driver-assistance features, including a rearview camera and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Available tech includes adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, lane-departure warning, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, and front and rear parking sensors. The R/T 392 Launch Edition Premium includes the full suite of available advanced driver-assistance features as standard.
