The Lexus vehicle catalog is full of compelling hybrid models, including the NX, a compact SUV with an upscale interior, a long list of standard tech and safety features, and stellar fuel economy. It’s consistently one of the top-rated vehicles in its segment, though it’s also far from the most entertaining to drive.

What’s New for the 2025 Lexus NX Hybrid
While the NX Hybrid competes in an ultra-hot segment, Lexus hasn’t made significant changes to the SUV since its last redesign for the 2022 model year. Changes since then have been mild, with no updates in 2023 and only a new available parking assist system in 2024. Revisions for 2025 continue that trend, with Lexus offering a few new standard features and no other changes.
Design
The NX is immediately identifiable as a Lexus, thanks to its giant grille and pointy LED daytime running lights. Lexus offers appearance packages with blacked-out exterior trim, and there are a number of wheel designs, depending on the model. The NX’s styling is otherwise clean, though some might find the sculpted body and sharp lines a bit too aggressive.
Powertrain
Lexus offers two powertrain options for the NX, starting with the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. It’s paired with three electric motors, making a combined 240 horsepower. The NX 450h+ comes with the same engine and motors, but output is cranked to 304 horsepower. Both engines pair with a continuously variable transmission and all-wheel drive. While it isn’t terribly engaging to drive, the NX Hybrid feels relatively lively, thanks to the instant torque from its electric motors. Fuel economy reaches 41 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway for the base hybrid configuration.

Interior
The NX seats five people on standard synthetic leather upholstery. Other standard features include heated front seats, power front-seat adjustments, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. Lexus offers genuine leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. While the front seats are spacious and accommodating, many adults will find the back seat to be short on head and legroom.
Technology
A 9.8-inch touchscreen and 7-inch digital gauge cluster come standard, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, ten speakers, navigation, voice commands, and more. Higher trims have a larger 14-inch touchscreen, a Mark Levinson audio system, and a digital key system.
Safety
The 2025 Lexus NX earned a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane keep assist, lane departure warnings, pedestrian detection, safe-exit warnings, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and a rearview camera. Available features include front cross-traffic alerts, a rearview mirror camera, parking assistance, and more.

Pricing and Release Date
As of the time of this writing, the 2025 Lexus NX 350h starts at $46,600. Stepping up to the NX 350h Luxury AWD pushes the price to $52,665. While Lexus offers a few added-cost options, the vast majority of features are tied to trim levels.
