What’s New for the 2025 Kia Sportage?
There are few to no changes to be found on the 2025 Kia Sportage compared to the prior model year.
Design
The Kia Sportage boasts a futuristic design, but it’s a grounded SUV that puts practicality first. Trims for the Sportage include LX, EX, X-Line, SX, SX Prestige, X-Pro, and X-Pro Prestige. The LX comes with 17-inch alloy wheels. The EX adds 18-inch alloy wheels, and stepping up to the X-Line adds 19-inch alloy wheels, as well as a lifted suspension, roof rails, and unique styling cues.
Powertrain
No matter which trim you select, the Sportage comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. It makes 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed to standard front-wheel drive (FWD) or available all-wheel drive (AWD) through an eight-speed automatic transmission. AWD is standard on X-Line and X-Pro trims. The X-Pro models feature mud-terrain tires, which help with performance but detract from fuel economy.
The FWD version of the Sportage returns fuel economy of 25 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 28 mpg combined. Selecting AWD brings fuel economy to 23 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined. The X-Pro AWD models return 23 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 25 mpg combined.

Interior
Standard features in the Sportage LX include cloth upholstery and manually adjustable seats. Stepping up to the EX adds synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, and more. Other upmarket trims feature ventilated front seats and a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat.
With the rear seats folded, the Sportage provides a generous 74.1 cubic feet of cargo space. With the rear seats in use, you'll find 39.6 cubic feet behind the rear seats. The Sportage comes standard with a manual liftgate and is available with a hands-free power liftgate as well.
Technology
The standard infotainment setup in the 2025 Sportage LX is an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. It also comes with a 12.2-inch digital instrument panel and HD radio. Every other trim of the Sportage comes with a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wired Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. These trims also feature satellite radio and wireless device charging.
Safety
The Sportage comes loaded with plenty of driver-assistance features, including automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, lane-departure warning, and driver attention monitoring.
Stepping up to the EX trim adds rain-sensing wipers, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The SX trim adds stop-and-go adaptive cruise control and the SX Prestige adds a blind-spot camera system, 360-degree parking camera system, and reverse automatic emergency braking.
